I am a third grade teacher and I see a behavior change in my students when the weather changes. I'm in Ohio and we had a gorgeous day yesterday but today the temp. dropped about 40 degrees and I woke up almost manic. Do you think your condition could be related to the change in barometric pressure? I know its a stretch but I'm trying to convince myself that's what's going on with me this morning. I'm incredibly down and almost weepy today. Even went to church and got weepy eyed there.

If you have had an EKG and echocardiogram and they both were normal, you are fine. It can't be your heart. It probably is anxiety. I have suffered from heart palpitations in the past, some that lasted hours, and it is scary to have unknown pain or fluttering. It usually is stress. The other strange thing is that it can come on a long time after you were stressed out about something. That is what makes you even more anxious. You didn't feel stressed when the symptoms came on. Please try not to worry and good luck to you!

Thank you for your reassurances. I guess what scared me so bad was I was having a good day - it came out of know where. I have had a rough two weeks with anxiety. I have been trying to figure this whole thing out (anxiety) to see where this bought of anxiety is coming from, I am scheduled to have two (minor) sugeries on Wednesday - maybe that is why I have been so out of wack lately.

I just cant undestand why my body gives off these symptoms because I "appear" to be fine - at least that is how I feel about having these surgeries, I wasn't worried about them (that I know of) until now - now that I had a chest pain.

I'm knew to this, but not to what you are describing. It likely was heartburn or acid indigestion. Was it followed by passing gas from one end or the other.

The exact sensation you described started with me during my first pregnancy, and was quite disturbing, as I had had a cardiac issue just prior the this starting. I have finally recognized it for what it is - but it still catches me off guard and makes me think heart attack almost every time it happpens.

However, I don't want to steer you wrong - if it continues, gets worse or radiates down the left arm or shoulder you should seek medical attention.

good Luck. I think this was my first post ever.

Thanks 2timemom; I don't believe I had any other sign of gas or pain in my left arm. I was getting up from a sitting position to do something when I felt it. I haven't felt anything since. I do get a tingling feeling in my arm(s) but I get that a lot when I am anxious. So I guess I can assume it is nothing?????

Ellkay,
I just finished reading a book called "The Secret." I think you should read it. It speaks a lot about healing from within. You will be fine, the surgeries will go well, and you will come out stronger. That which we resist, persists. Recognize it for what it is, anxiety, and then put it aside. We are all praying for you. Good luck.
