cold feet yet warm body

my feet are always cold. like right now i feel hot. my head and face and everything else is warm but my feet are freezing. why is that? i amscared. what if i have thyroid problem?? i am not overweight, am a vegetarian, dont have that great of a diet tho. i am on birth control and dont smoke or drink...i amreally scared now...like what if i am dying and dont even know it and cant do anything about it cause i dont have insurance so i cant see a dr. anyway, does anybody else get this?? thanks

Hi Holly J,

My name is Michelle C and I saw your topic cold feet and worm budy. I do have a thyroid problem and have had it since 1984. I don't believe it's your thyroid.

I would ask though, if it has something to do with what your taking for birth control. And think back did your feet get cold before taking the med's.

Do your feet or part of your feet aver turn white at times?

I have a problem with my feet and hands being very cold, but I don't think it's because of my thyroid.

Can I ask how old you are? Becase that would help me in what I think is going on with you.

Please don't be scard, My feet and hands also get freezing cold to where I can't even get my budy warm. I have to sometime's take a hot bath just to get warm.

I do know a lot about what your thyroid can do regarding the budy.

Hi Holly,

Your right, it could be your birth control meds. Poor blood flow to your legs and feet can cause your feet to become ice cold. Next time your feet feel real cold look at the bottom of them to see if they are blue or pruple in color. There is another condation that I know about that can cause your feet to become very cold, but it doesn't sound like that's what you have. Let me know what you think?

I too have this problem. I'm 58 and I'd say the past year or so its so bad I put heavy socks on to go to bed. I wake up somewhere around 4 or 5 and take them off. I now put an extra blanket on top of my quilt folded just on my side. I sure wish I knew what the problem is too. I had my thyroid checked and everything is fine.

I took birth control pills when I was your age but don't remember anything like this. I'm ordering a product with soy just to see if that helps cuz I do think its my hormones. I don't know. I hope you can figure it out and I wish I could too.

my feet do this and have for years and at times they are really hot. When I take a shower at times my legs turn a blueish color with like white dots? I am not sure what this means besides maybe i have poor circution in them? Maybe I don't get enough extercise.
