I've been depressed for the past three years. I just don't have deserving happiness. Can someone please help.

Hi Mark - You sound like you've hit rock bottom with this. Have you tried meds? If not, please see your doctor. I was reluctant to try them but hit rock bottom last fall, and was more afraid NOT to try them. Guess what? They worked wonderfully, and I'm very grateful I took that step because I now see it was the first step to a bright future. I took Lexapro but there are many different choices out there which seem to be better at certain symptoms. I did the program and weaned off the meds already. The SSRI's help to reset your brain to effectively use/make the serotonin that you are missing right now. Of course, there could be other issues, which is another reason you need to take a trip to the doctor and have a frank conversation with him/her. Don't worry they've heard everything and they are not there to judge you. Please do not hesitate. You don't need to feel this way, there is help out there.
