If Stress Center is reading,, I have to disagree with the fact people know what they are doing.
When the site was REDONE in the Fall, everyone was confused with the opening page. NO instructions were given,,, and Ive been coming here 3 yrs.. Lots of people were pressing the wrong button at the top, and it would take them to the online program..
If i were you, Id email Carolyn@stresscenter.com she is the head of education....... I almost accidently signed up myself by hitting the wrong button.
These service people need to understand the site. which i dont think they do, they just take the money.

I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with this. DOn't give up! Use this as a learning oportunity to be assertive and resolve this. Thanks for sharing as I will pay attention to my bill when it comes in the mail. I originally signed up for the monthly payments but loved the program so much that I just mailed a check for the full payment and the staff seemed so nice and friendly! They made a mistake and sent me the cassettes instead of the CD's that I requested and I was thinking about returning the whole thing but after I checked it out I loved it and called them on the phone and was assertive, told them the problem about the cassettes instead of the cd's and they sent me cd's no problem. They were really helpful to me, so keep calling and assert your needs and hopefully you can get resolution. This is a great program so let's not get someone's mistake make anyone think otherwise. Someone made a mistake and was wrong. It needs to be corrected. This is a good program!

Karen

I am also very sorry that your having these problems....when we arent feeling well its hard to have to deal with problems....

I had signed up for the program online as well although not on accident and then realized that I would rather have bought the program so I called and they were very understanding. Now I only had like one month under my belt online but they were very kind to me. Sometimes I think its really easy to come on the attack of the people that work there and hard to remember that they are only people that work there. Not every doctor or nurse knows the innerworkings of the hospital they work in same here.

These are just people like you and I that when come upon attack from callers have to do thier best to maintain their composure but cant always do it very well....When I dont get the answers I need from the person on the phone I always ask to speak to a supervisor and then I explain my situation to them.

Having anxiety I know that I tend to want to lash and NOT use the skills in the program to get my concerns across. My Mom always said that youll get more bees with honey. So my advice is to try again. Call you credit card company and dispute the charges and then also call the center again and speak as you wish to be spoken to. See if your tone and your words can be sincere and concerned without being accusing and mean. You just might get someone who will feel for your situation and wish to do something to help because you are being so genuine.

Anyways thats my advice.....I wish you good luck in fixing this error.

I appreciate everyone's input and also the fact that these posts have not yet been deleted. In thinking back to my conversations with Stress's staff, I probably was defensive and not very sweet myself. At first I was so sure that I hadn't signed up for the program; but then I started doubting myself, since they claimed to have records that I signed up and used the on-line program. So, maybe I accidentally plugged in some information that I should not have, and maybe I did hit the button that took me to the on-line program. My husband does not like monthly payment plans, and if I did give my credit card information for monthly payments, it most definitely was by mistake.

My husband will not let me pursue this further, probably because my emotional state is so fragile right now. I've contacted Carolyn Dickman and not received an answer. I think that four e-mails and two conversations is enough assertiveness right now. My husband deals with customer service a good bit himself and said that if this is a reputable company, they would have corrected the matter before now.

I found it interesting that I was contacted in the last couple of days by the company to purchase their tutoring program and was told I would receive a refund at the end of it if not totally satisfied. A supervisor even called to reassure me of this fact. I feel like laughing about that. My husband says we will never again purchase anything from this program, and right now I don't even want to look at the books or listen to the CD's. I'm glad that others have found help from the Stress Center, but as for me, it did more harm than good.

Hi KR,

I feel for you for all you've gone through, But this is a wonderful program and if you don't do the program out of anger, it would really be like "cutting off your nose to spite your face". It wouldn't help you to keep your anxiety and/or depression out of anger. You wont be hurting them, you'll only be hurting yourself.

Take care. DeeDee.
