It's been a dark, gray, rainy day today where I live (MD) and my mood is SEVERELY affected by it. I can never seem to function on rainy days. My head feels like it's going to explode and I feel so tired and down. Does this happen to anyone else? What do you do to not let the weather affect you?
...and right when she thought the world was ending, the catepillar became a beautiful butterfly...

Hi cole2458,
I feel the same way.. I live in California and it has been rainy here for several days. I just look forward to the sunny days to come. I try to stay positive and imagine all the petty flowers that spring will bring. Your probably thinking how do you stay postive. Belive me its hard. Our personality traits are to always think negative. I litterally had to pull out my handy cards.. Im at work!!! I had to read it to myself week 3, side 1 & 2 and it worked. I hope this helps..

Coal2458 - I'm with you. Every winter I experience my usual lethargy, headaches, and moodiness. My doctor put me on a Vitamin D supplement which seems to be helping this year. I also bought a SAD light for my desk. I am still craving the sun, but I must say it has helped. Good luck!

thanks for replying!
i bought a light lamp for SAD but it just gave me a monster headache even though i used the lowest setting and only for 5 minutes. the rain is slowing up, but i still feel like everything outside-muddy and bleak. i'll try rereading my cards. thanks for the suggestions :)

I know how you feel. I live in NC and we've had some rain, which we need desperately, but it just hurts me. I lived in FL most of my life so I am not used to the weather changes too. This has affected me too the last couple of years.

How do I cope? I keep trying to tell myself that its just the weather that is bothering me and things will get better. Of course my anxiety things it is something bad happening but it is not and I try to talk myself out of it bothering me. Most days I can do it and some days it is harder.

I just try to think of positive phrases and repeat them often and eventually it does do some good.

Hang in there. We'll get through this.

I'm from DE and I know what u mean. Today was gloomy lol. What's crazy is like when the weather is bad, thoughts come into my mind and like I think for a second that God is crying because something bad is going to happen. But it's not, the earth needs to replenish. Everything is normal.
