Disenchanted with Stress Stress Center
I haven't been on the forum since a hospital stay in September, but I feel prompted to write about my experience with their staff. I recently noticed that my credit card was being billed $19.96 a month to the stress center. I had no idea what I was being billed for, as I'd paid for the program in full months earlier. So, I called and talked to a very unfriendly staff member who told me that I'd signed up for an on-line program. I said that, no, I'd never signed up or used such a program, but she insisted that I had. I made another phone call and two or three e-mails, and got the same answer from them all. I'd definately signed up for the on-line program I was told, and there would be no refund of my money, regardless whether I used the on-line program or not. If it's that easy to sign up for the program accidentally, I wonder if anyone else has had this experience. You might want to check your credit card charges more closely than I did the last few months. I couldn't believe that I was treated so coldly and so firmly told that I'd in no uncertain terms signed up for something that I didn't even know existed. I'm very disenchanted with the program, the staff and their policies. I'm sorry now that I spent $600 on something that has CAUSED me so much stress. Karen
Karen,
I am so sorry this happened to you. I would write to Carolyn Dickman. PM her or write to support@stresscenter.com Something should get done. I will pray that this gets corrected. Do not be disenchanted with this program. This is a wonderful program where many got help and you did too until this mixup. Do not let this get to you. I know it will get corrected. Peace to you.

Hi KR!
Sad to hear about the way you were treated by the staff. You have the right to be treated with respect and they got to remember, that they are supposed to be respestful of their client/s. And besides they are supposed to be the role- model 'coz they are facing people with anxiety and depression. If they are to cause anxiety producing situation/s, thank you very much. We don't need it. Their utmost mission is FUTILE. So please don't hesitate to call the supervisor about any complaints that you may have....

To be quite honest, I've had some very poor customer service from SOME of the staff at StressCenter, some, not all. It is very easy to accidentally sign up for the wrong thing, considering there are sign-up forms all over this website and you're never quite sure what the heck you're signing up for, whether it be the actual program, the online program, or the forums. I agree that they need to be more specific about what you're signing up for. And if someone signs up for something by accident, they should be able to refute that and be able to talk to someone who can help them out. I would dispute the charges with your credit card company personally, but that's just me. Or email Carolyn like Barb said to do.
hugs&kisses,
Karilynn
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
Frank Herbert
"How you climb up the mountain is just as important as how you get down the mountain. And, so it is with life, which for many of us becomes one big test followed by one big lesson. In the end, it all comes down to one word: grace. It's how you accept winning and losing, good luck and bad luck, darkness and the light."

I am sure this will be deleted ASAP. Can't say bad things about StressCenter.
After I signed up for the coaching program I was admitted into the hospital, lost my disability and my father died. I have not heard from the coach in months...yet magically I am still being billed for it on my credit card. I have called and emailed plenty of times. They are all about the money!!

“I would dispute the charges with your credit card company” Yes, that is the correct way to handle this.
You are protected by law from situations like this.
Write (don't call) a short concise letter to your credit card company. In this letter, explain what happened (just like you did in your post here) and tell them you are "disputing" the monthly charge. List the dates and times (if possible) you made a “good faith” effort to resolve the problem with the merchant. Include the amount of the dispute along with your reason for the dispute. Also include your credit card # and a daytime telephone # so they can contact you.
Be sure to mail the dispute letter to the correct address listed on the back of your credit card bill.
Do not send it in the same envelope along with the bill. When your credit card company receives your letter they will notify the merchant of the dispute and the merchant will not be allowed to continuing charging your account until the dispute is settled. This is a consumer protection law.
Also be sure to subtract the disputed amount from your total payment when you pay the rest of your bill. Once you actually “pay” the disputed charge it’s much harder to get any kind of resolution because by paying for the service you are, in effect, agreeing to it.
Keep in mind that, depending on the merchant’s attitude, you may have to repeat this process for several months until the issue is finally resolved, depending on the merchant. If at first they try to decline your dispute, just keep doing it every month. It WILL work.
This is a good way to practice your assertiveness

If Stress Center is reading,, I have to disagree with the fact people know what they are doing.
When the site was REDONE in the Fall, everyone was confused with the opening page. NO instructions were given,,, and Ive been coming here 3 yrs.. Lots of people were pressing the wrong button at the top, and it would take them to the online program..
If i were you, Id email Carolyn@stresscenter.com she is the head of education....... I almost accidently signed up myself by hitting the wrong button.
These service people need to understand the site. which i dont think they do, they just take the money.
