Does Anxiety Cause Schizophrenia?

Does anxiety cause schizophrenia? Read a stupid article about schizo and now I can't stop thinking that maybe I am gonna get it now? I hate this about anxiety!!! I am 29 years old.

Not that I know of. I do know that it is a brain disease, and can be hereditary. Although, there are different kinds of Schizophrenia.

The term schizophrenia comes from the Greek words split and mind. In schizophrenia there tends to be a split between reality and fantasy, often accompanied by hallucinations and delusions. There may be a failure to distinguish what is real rather than existing in the head without basis in reality. I am no expert, but this is from a book by a psychiatrist.

Unless there are other symptoms, I doubt very much that anxiety is a cause of schizophrenia.

those are two different things. lucinda mentions it on one her cd's. we are not crazy or mentally ill. everyone has anxiety it is just some peoples are more than others.
