I wrote Friday about my terrible fear of staying alone with my year-old granddaughter at her home out in the country. I DID IT! I was so anxious all evening and even nauseous at times. I tried to follow the advice of responses to my post with some success. I was afraid of the approaching darkness and how it would be. It wasn't that bad but my heart was racing the whole time. After I went to bed I was finally not afraid anymore but couldn't go to sleep until 1:00am. I usually am asleep by 9:00pm. My heart was still pounding. The morning and daylight finally came and all was well. It was very peaceful and I had fun playing with my granddaughter. Next time will be easier. The evening before I would look at my granddaughter and think.."There is no fear in this child, and here I am, her Grandmother, so frightened." That's difficult to understand but true. Anyway, with God's help and the program and you all I was able to do something that I haven't done in 23 years.

CONGRATULATIONS!

With every little success you experience you chip away at that nasty bad anxiety habit.

You did all the right things....you distracted yourself, you told yourself you could do it, you enjoyed it as well as possible pushing through your feelings and symptoms....

You should be very proud of yourself. You are really using your program and skills to make great beginnings.....I wish you the best of luck in all this, but you wont need it you know what your doing.....

Im so happy for you!

Congratulations, Friend1C!
I am so happy that you did so well.
It reminds me of the "motto" that I read on another poster's posts: "you are a success because you try.".
And you braved your fears, you tried, and you succeeded. And that win will stay with you!!
You did really well.
Thank you for sharing!
That will encourage many others!
Have a great day now!!

I think the biggest step is just doing the very thing you fear. If you tackle it head on, then the fear is eliminated, and you stop giving it fuel to scare you!
You conquered the fear and had a good time with your Grandaughter well done!!!

Congratulations for walking through the wall of fear. That is what we all must do to recovery. Keep it up. You are on your way, Grandma!
