You guys don't know it but you are keeping me motivated or at least I am running along beside you. need something to keep me from sliding back down into the whole I have dug for myself. guess everyone is busy with Christmas and living I hope. I get into a rut with doing the same thing never any thing new. I can't keep letting the years pass and never over come my fears of going places always staying at home making excuses. hoep to see you all soon

Hi Guys!
Just stopping in to see what going on?
Kinda quiet.
Paislee, are you having family around for the holidays? How are you doing? Did you get your house appraised?
Forever young, Good your still with us! Keep up your posts. Do you celebrate the Christmas holiday? I'm glad you are staying with the program. One step at a time...

Hey guys sorry i haven't posted in a few days...been really overwhelmed and it doesn't help to spend hours upon hours doing the tony robbins stuff! Thats definately a habit i'm going to change.
I haven't read what you guys wrote yet and i will later, i just wanted to let you know that i'm still here and still determined.
Also another thing, I misinterpreted some of the tony robbins stuff so i'm going to figure it all out and then post. I will let you know about the new rules for the positive feelings...start them off with Anytime I...and make up a bunch of criteria that will give you the feeling.
ie.In order to feel love
I feel love anytime I give love, anytime I notice someone doing something nice for me, anytime I appreciate all the good things about someone, anytime I talk to an old friend, anytime I recieve love from others.
Also make sure it is something you are in control of...don't let it be determined by forces that aren't in your control.
I'll read all your posts and respond to them in the next couple of days.

You are definately allowed to express yourself and its not right for me to say not to do that and not to post long messages. Thats an irrational expectation on my part. I do understand your situation and how uncomfortable you are and that you find it therapeutic to post your feelings. You are allowed and entitled to do so and i'm glad it is helping you to release some of the stress. I know you also have gotten some of the program cds and you mentioned about getting the panic to power book and you are seeing some of the extra things i'm posting from other sources too and thats great as well as seeing the psychiatrist.
I could be wrong about this but I am a little concerned that you might fall into the victim thinking trap and mostly just talk about all the problems instead of taking action to fix them. I'm only assuming this as most of what you talk about are the problems and not the results to the actions you've been taking. I appreciate your messages and care about you and do not want you to spend anymore years suffering with this condition and you don't deserve it! I care but I want you to break your negative cycles so you aren't stuck in the victim thinking because this victim thinking may keep your anxiety and depression going for decades if continue.
There was a comedian i saw on my friends computer yestaurday and her humor is based on psychology which is cool and I wish I could find it but I can't right now so i'll just tell you. She says everybody has negative stuff going on...she said imagine you have 2 sacks on to your left full of potatoes and one to your right which is empty. Now take each potato one by one and carve in it the name of someone who hurt you or a situation and then put it in the other sack until you run out of things...now imagine lifting that sack and putting it on your back and carrying it around with you for the rest of your life! What happens after awhile with the potatoes? They go bad...they start to smell and people notice it and eventually they start to avoid the potato sack because of the smell and in order to avoid the potato sack they have to avoid the person who is permenantly carrying it around. Drop your potatoes.
Its not bad to talk about current situations and I hope you don't feel like thats what i'm saying. It would however be more beneficial to talk more about the positive things and the progress and such. If i'm way off in my assumption or if you get offended then please let me know. Like I said I still care, you do deserve to get over this condition and I respect your feelings.
Oh and yeah the Jar of dirt song was pretty cool...I also have a parody song mentioning pancake batter!
THH
That is some really amazing timing and definately a huge relevation! I bet you are already noticing the beginning of change. Realizing the problem is half of the solution! I bet you are or were having an upshot of positive energy and drive after realizing this too! Glad you were able to figure this and your mother out a little more. Jonny Depp is pretty cool and that other vid with the cups falling out of the cabinet was too. It was a little dark at the end with the gun but I thought it was appropriate when it came to obsessive thoughts! So if anybody is having a hard time with a suicide obsessive thought they could watch that and maybe get something from it! Calgon take me away days? Is this a generational thing that I don't get?

Well I can tell you are still motivated as you have posted about the pain of staying stuck, that is a good thing! Have you tried any of the extra things I've posted? Where are you in the program?
Last couple of days
Been reading up on the Tony Robbins stuff on values and beliefs and have realized I misinterpreted it a bit. He talks about first finding your values both negative and positive and how you can actually change them around which would change your priorities in life around and then change the beliefs. Also with the beliefs I misunderstood as well. Alot of us feel negative more often then we do positive and that is because we have given ourselves many more ways to feel negative and very few ways to feel positive.
For instance For success person X might think they'd have to have a completely fit body, be earning millions of dollars a year, be respected by everybody around him and never feel down. He would have to fill all those criteria in order to feel happy...not just one. Now say his in order for him to feel like he failed he would have to...feel bad, be anything but completely fit, be disrespected, feel down, not do a perfect job, not be the best or not get recognition....If he has even one of those he will feel like he failed.
So Tony Robbins says to switch it around! Make so many ways to create the positive feeling and less to feeling bad. Ie I feel successful...Anytime (state it in anytime so you aren't expecting yourself to do this every waking our and you aren't making it so you have to fulfill a whole list of things before you feel successful)...so Anytime I learn, Anytime I enjoy myself, anytime I eat healthy, anytime I workout, anytime I drink water, anytime I pick lint from my belly button (Whatever you want!) And for Failure you want to state it as, "I avoid..." Because these values are the ones you want to avoid. You are trying to figure out what you can do to avoid them and not what has to happen for you to feel them...you don't want to feel them! (I made this mistake and it took hours to figure out!) So for Failure...I avoid believing in perfection, I avoid giving others the ability to control my emotions and behaviors.
I will post my list of new values in the order I placed them in and why I did so and then I'll post my old beliefs vs new beliefs for each value.

Hi Karen, Glad to hear from you. Here's wishing you a Merry Christmas as well.
Hi Mike--I just needed to vent, but I'm doing better each day. I don't have the concentration level to focus too much right now except just getting up and dressed and do my volunteer work and interact with my family members as well as friends and the world outside of my house.
Getting ready for Christmas and festivities take a lot of energy and focus. I'm not the same person I was last year, but I'm getting better in this new chapter in my life. I'm doing well with my husband after working on some discussion without me feeling anxious.
So that has made life much better. We're working on some goals together that are very simple as I explain what I'm anxious about and what I'm working on. I let him know that I appreciate all that he does for me.
