Housebound:Trapped inside on TLC network
I didn't know this new show was on till I was channel surfing. I caught the last 40 minutes of it and it seems pretty encouraging. It is hosted by Dr Keith Ablow and he is very patient as he helps the client by exposing them to what they fear in baby steps. I guess it's on
Wednesdays but I don't know if that wil be the regular time slot, or if it will be picked up by enough viewers to stay on? I hope so. It was very encouraging.
Did anyone else see it?

Jillsmind, yes it was a good show. Dr. Kieth was the originator of the site that shut down "living the truth". He is a unique Dr.
Now it is on facebook if your interested. I feel fb is like being on a busy main street.
I am glad you got to see it. There is a few here that is fighting the monster currently.

Yes, Dr. Keith is the man who has made the rest of my life possible. For the past 3 years he gave me the virtual therapy that I needed before he was even born. It started with his own TV show back in early 2007. I loved it, proceeded to read all his books, nonfiction and fiction. Was lost when the show was cancelled (too classy if you ask me).
In April 2008 he established Living the Truth based on his book. He gave of himself personally at least for some time. I guess he again did not get the numbers he needed.
While I was thrilled to watch Housebound it really did not show enough of his many talents and great intelligence. But I learned anyway. He did uncover the harsh realities of their early life and then said that what they were doing to themself was self punishment. I have a mild case of agoraphobia. Self punishment makes much sense.
So the cat is out of the bag. I did not want to mention the show and be misconstrued as promoting Dr. Keith. He will always be tops to me. But I appreciate the program here and the many good people. I am very thankful to SoWhatIf and Stress Center. My intent is simply to try and give back all that I've gained in the past 3 years.

Tina Martin, thanks for sharing. I have found here that noone is in trouble or thought differently if they tell about a certain Dr or author or a book that can help everyone overcome their anxiety and depression.
Ninja has posted links to TV shows about people w/ OCD and other problems that are being helped or just plain funny to help us laugh and have a good day.

I never heard of him before this program. I had seen his face but wasn't sure where i'd seen him before. He didn't seem to be endorsing or promoting any sort of program? He was just helping the two ladies leave their homes and get outside. What excited me the most was that there was awareness of Agoraphobia on a prime time tv program. Here's a disorder that millions suffer from and yet it almost never gets talked about on tv. I am happy about that it is now. I hope those that watch can get some help. I did find LTT on FB and I joined it as well.
Take care

I'm glad there is a TV program that shows Agoraphobia. I never understood it until now. Even my Psychologist was telling me about it, that if I don't go back to the places where I felt "scared" that I would become Agoraphobic.
Little did I know or understand that I would have the "feelings" of not wanting to go places like I use to.
