So, did you make it thru Black Friday ????????

They showed on the news here the malls in the States on Friday ! LOLOLOLOLOL I can't believe that there are people that will stand in line all night long just to get trampled on. People actually get hurt bad at these things. People pushing people and people getting into fist fights. I was having an attack just watching the news ! LOL Did you stand in line all night ?????????

did i go anywhere to shop on black friday? nope. the ads on tv did NOT convince me i needed anything that badly LOL

2 of my nephews however did stand in line at walmart for their mothers to buy a 42 and 32 inch tv for their mothers. they're 19 and 17 so they had a ball. they were there at 1:00 a.m. and had to wait until 5:00 a.m. their moms - one is my sister - are delighted with the purchases LOL

my sister and her 2 left for home today. that always makes me a bit sad.

and yes - speaking of sad - i'm going to have to say it. thanksgiving day i felt a bit of the holiday blues seeping in. i took my dog keeper on the nature trail before going to mama's for dinner with the family. it was a lovely walk - but i had sad thoughts on a beautiful day.

after dinner i had my 17 year old nephew go with me and my 2 dogs on the river walk for a long walk. that helped a lot. we talked about this and that. he's a great guy - quiet - but opens up to me because he knows he can. after the walk i took him to a friend's house and showed him off - she hadn't seen him in several years. she was stunned at how tall and grown up he is! he is a beautiful young man. can you tell how proud of him i am? LOL

afterwards we found a movie to take back to mama's to watch with the rest of the gang. i laughed a lot. we paused the movie about halfway thru - there was a big group of us - and me and my 16 year old niece went in mama's front yard and did cartwheels.

i am incredibly impressed - yes impressed - that i can still do cartwheels after not having done one in 105 years!!!! my family was too LOL collectively we don't have walking around sense - something i love with all my heart. i had to have help achieving a handstand - 17 year old nephew held my legs after 16 year old niece helped me get my legs up. it was funny sad LOLOL

one of the best parts of my nieces and nephews is they accept me for who i am and allow me to be myself. they don't appear to be embarrassed by me - even when i sing in the car - very off key. they love classic rock too - so how lucky am i?

i'm so glad i posted tonight man of mine. i'm not as sad now - thank you very much!!!!!

how is your and everyone else's long weekend going?

Hey, you guys are funny! :) I'm still catching up, but I like Karma you needing to get new elbow pads from Walmart suggested by Manofmusic!

I'm feeling the winter cold now. So it is making it hard for me to venture outside unless I need to. I'm glad you were able to going walking and had fun with your nephews, etc. I love classic rock too! I love how your nephew and niece helped you do a handstand!

Your dogs are a crack up and I know how strong at least a Pit Bull is. I had to put my dog to sleep a year ago. I miss him terribly.

Mano--as Karma would say...DH redid part of our main bathroom, it was a stressful event because there was a deadline. I was so stressed over this. As I know he isn't careful about protecting the rest of the house or bathroom. due to his hurry to get things done.

So it is good that you can take your time. Now that it is done, I have anxiety using it. My Dr explained that to DH and the Dr explained that I'm just not use to the new look or change. He did understand why a misty bathroom would be a bit scary for me.

So have fun at HD, one of my favorite stores! Although haven't really been in one for a quite some time.

Paislee - They roll out the red carpet for me at HD now ! LOL I can relate to the rushing thing. When I first bought my house, I thought I had to rush everything. BIG MISTAKE. I learned from my mistakes and I'm redoing this bathroom right the first time. I have 2 bathrooms here anyway, so there's no rush.

Karma - Canada's Thanksgiving was in October, so it wasn't a long weekend for me. I had to work Thursday and Friday. After seeing the crowds over there shopping on the news, I think I'd rather be at work ! LOL

My Christmas lights are up, the tree is up and now I'm all ready for the blizzards to start. It's 43 degrees here now and it's going up to 60 tomorrow, so it might be a warm blizzard !LOL

Here I am in my snow pants, wooly hat and big thick gloves and everyone else is playing golf LOL BRING ON THE WINTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad a good time was had by all. Many people get the holiday blues, me included.

On a positive note: in 22 more days, the daylight starts getting longer ! More daylight and less darkness. Unless your my cousin in the Yukon. Right now it's 24 hours of darkness there. Now THAT'S depressing !

Mano--I do that too! Count the days until sun is out longer! At least now I have Ott Lamps. I am not ready for Christmas and I wonder do I even want to get ready. It will be up to my son to go buy the tree and bring down the ornaments, etc.

We also are waiting to see if my elderly FIL is going to come live with us. So I'm trying not to feel anxious, but it is very Difficult! I'm still taking baby steps! So to throw another person into the mix of short days, Christmas Holidays is going to be Crazy! Yikes! I'm going to need all the sanity you guys can give me. :)

oh honey - stick with us! we'll build you up and NOT tear you down - really!!!! i think we're fun and honest even with our ups and downs.

ok you've already decided the holidays are going to be crazy. cool. you are so NOT alone in that. emotions run the full gamut of happy and sad and everything in between. sit back and watch the insanity and try not to be a part of it. someone recently told me to watch people that are making me crazy, anxious, whatever and remember they are there for MY amusement AND entertainment. what a wonderful spin. take that spin and use it on family madness. it can be fun!!!

i'm not a bit ready for christmas. just the thought of decorating now? no way! i don't like having a tree up for a month. i decorate when i'm ready - it's a choice i make. i'm tired of others making choices for me. i've found that decision works very well for me.

oh i just got what FIL means - father in law? that's a big step i'm sure. how old and infirm is he? does he know you're having a problem with anxiety right now? if so, remember it's nothing to be ashamed of - any more than his being elderly is.

you're very smart in remembering to take baby steps. feel good about every small step - they are all successes!

22 days until the days start getting longer? WOW x infinity!!!!!! i told myself very positively too that it would happen soon - really i did - and now you confirmed it LOL

it was grey here yesterday and misting at times. today we've been under a tornado watch and it's been raining like nobody's business! it will blow through soon and tomorrow will be sunny. the cold is supposed to hit too! remember it does get very cold here!!!! now throw in i have almost NO insulation in this old house and only use space heaters. i have to dress in layers just to walk from my bedroom to the kitchen LOLOL my sister calls the kitchen "base camp two" - how funny is that?

i put up that electric wire to keep my big black dog in - he's already figured out a way to outsmart it. i could start screaming and never stop!!!! a friend is going to help me devise a scheme to figure out where he's getting out from this time. side note: all my friends said he'd outsmart me and the wire LOL

it's official - i've become queen of the mufflers. i spend every night making yet another one. at least they're pretty and functional. i may give some as christmas gifts.

well i'm off to finish a pink muffler now LOL

Hi Karma, Yep, FIL in DH's Dad.;) But after a phone call from SIL, the standing is "No!" from FIL. He has some obligations he takes seriously and is going be sure to allow help to come in and use the coal that heats the house. He is trying to heat a house with really no insulation with 2e electric heaters. He just stays in his the man areas of the house and huddles around the TV and the heaters. When if he would use coal the house can be heated uniformly and cheaper than his two heaters.

He is 86 and already has had several falls, but the last one really panicked him as it was near the street and noone stopped to help him. They probably were zipping by and weren't expecting to see someone lying on the ground.

He is now willing to wear an emergency alert device so that when he falls he can press it. That is the concession for staying in his house.
I understand completely why he wouldn't want to leave for a winter visit with us.

He wouldn't understand anxiety at all, he is losing some mental clarity and I suspect he has had a mini stroke. He is very stubborn and the 2 daughters that live near him can only do so much.

I'm like you, right now I'm not in a hurry for a tree or any decorating. I use to be, but just trying to work with this new found anxiety takes enough of my energy and to spend my energy on decorating a tree, etc. is going to be hard.

I did venture out to mail a couple letters and buy some almonds and something else healthy. Ended up buying more and studying the yogurts' ingredients along with cottage cheese. It is interesting that they put more sodium in the dairy products if there is less fat. And more sugar if there is more fat. I think I got that right. :D

Anyway, the roads were slick, but by the time I left the store there was powdery snow. Very pretty, but I wasn't planning on filling up a grocery cart. LOL! So that was a whole new adventure for me since I had my first panic attack, is to go grocery shopping. I'm finding it very difficult, because I'm being very choosy w/the food items. Which is a good thing, as I'm trying to eliminate more salt, sugar and fat from my diet.

Your dog is definitely on the hunt! :) We ended up getting a shock collar for my dog, because he loved to herd the cars that go by. They didn't go fast, in fact they would stop for him. Then he would get in front of their bumper and "herd" the car. It was quite funny, but dangerous and I'm sure, annoying to the drivers. We put in an invisible fence. It worked quite well, it just didn't keep the other dogs out of our yard.

I think the mufflers are a super gift! :)
