One step at a time. You start by taking a small trip to your front yard. Notice how you feel. If you can push yourself to go further, do it. If you can't, it's no big deal. Try again later. The thing is, if you can talk yourself into being afraid, you can talk yourself into just about anything including taking the first step. It just takes time.
I agree w/manofmusic. Just take baby steps. I was agoraphobic and was stuck inside for a long time. In fact, I had to have my blinds close, I couldn't even look outside. But then, I decided to open the blinds, then open a window. Then I opened a door. After awhile I took a step outside, then I walked out to my front steps. I fianlly sat down on my front steps. I eventually got down to the street. And, on and on..... Baby steps..... it took me awhile but I finally made it to my car, then it was the same there. I just sat in the car, then I started the car. Then one day I took it down to the end of the driveway and back, and so it goes.
You can do it. But remember to take it slow and take it one step at a time. It can be done. I did it and so can you. We are here to help. Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing. Good luck!
