I have come to the conclusion that the only drug that gives me real needed help is klonopin. I take .5mg twice per day. Please tell me that this is okay to do long term. I'm also experimenting with fish oil. Anyone recieve any help from that? Thanks!

I take a pharmaceutical grade multi-vitamin twice a day that includes fish oil. It really helps. It may take a while to get through your system, but it will kick in and you will feel tons better. I can't take anti-depressants. That tried me on paxil and I just slept all day. I couldn't do it. The ativan helps as needed, but I'm trying to get off of that completely as well. The CD's will really help you. I was on my second CD and felt better.

Hi guitar1,

I just wanted to encourage you not to feel guilty if you need the klonopin for awhile. I take fish oil too, along with a lot of other supplements and they do help, or at least, I hope they aren't hurting anything. I also take xanax and my brother takes the klonopin. I am hopeful one day to be able to get off of it but I am not rushing myself and I'm not beating myself up anymore for needing it right now. It helps me cope and that's not a bad thing. I'm on a low dose - like you are on klonopin. Please don't stress yourself over taking an anti-anxiety med if it is helping you. Some of us need just a little extra boost for a season. No condemnation, ok? ;)

Hi guitar1,

I know how you feel - I would rather not take the xanax either and I used to let others put me down because of it and put myself down. No more. I found out that alot of my family members: grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc., had/have trouble with their "nerves". So, even though I look forward to the day that I'm not taking it, I'm ok now with taking it. I also did the program and it helped alot too.

Thanks for the complement on the sunglasses but that's not me - just an avitar. :) Although, if I lightened my hair just a bit more I might be able to pass... :D

Take care of yourself.

Hi Guitar1,

Just to jump in and let you know that I have been on Klonopin for at least 10 years and I haven't noticed any side effects, although everyone is different. My current dosage is exactly the same as yours, 0.5 mg twice a day and as needed.

This has helped me tremendously over the years. I have tried others but nothing seems to work as well for me. I have tried fish oil but I haven't noticed a decrease in my anxiety from using it.

I just thought I would post this for your info.

Good luck!

Hi Guitar1,

I too have been on Klonopin for a number of years. At one point I was taking 1mg up to four times/day - though usually only 3. I am now down to .5mg 2-3 times a day, so I'm happy with my progress. The only side effect I find is that it makes me sleepy. Also, when I was taking the higher dose it took quite awhile to come down from that; I had withdraw symptoms. But don't worry. You're taking care of yourself at the moment, and that's what matters. Getting off the meds will take care of itself in time, when you're ready. Best of luck to you, to all of us.

I take 0.5mg twic a day and sometime three times a day put there are time tht is not enough I all ways wonder what is safe dosage to take, sometimes I feel like I need to take another 1/2 pill wondering if it is safe, I feel I am bad but I can't Think of taking 1mg four times a day, I am afraid to take 1mg once a day. I guess you are worse than me has the prgram helped you,if it has I know it will help me.

I can't take anti-depressants either, they do nothing for me they don't help my pantic attack, They make me dizzy, lightheaded, I couldn't give pick my head off the pillow. so i wont take them, I do take Klonopin it is the only thing that helps, I use to beat myself up for needing medication I felt weak, With out it I wouldn't be hear today for I would not live with this 24/7 never ends, this is not somethig that passes, when I have an attack I have to take more medication or just want to die cant stand this feeling. Is anyone like me and did this program help you, I am looking for hope
