Chest Pain
I've been having strange chest pain for several months now. It's a small are to the left of my sternum. I comes and goes at random times and only lasts a few seconds. It doesnt hurt very bad, just enough to let me know its there. It doesnt occur during exertion, usually when I'm stationary. What makes it scarier is I may have damaged my left shoulder at work last year and it clicks and pop constantly and often sends strange feelings and pains down my arm. When both the arm issue and chest pain happen at the same time its really scary. I also have strange sensations in the left side of my face and neck. I've been to the doctors many times had, EKG, ECHO, lung test, blood pressure, all showed no problems. I have suffered from acid reflux for years and have it managed but just dont feel like thats the cause. Anyone have anything similar or idea of what the cause may be? Thanks.
Enigma,
Hello! Sounds like it might be nerve related?! We got lots of them running all through our bodies and they can definately cause twinges and pains.
Anxiety can cause lots of symptoms too so it could just be that. I had chest pains awhile back - went to the ER and everything checked out ok. I have acid reflux too so I know what weird feelings that can cause. Sometimes I'll get chest pain or discomfort from that if I've not be watchful of what I eat. Hope you get better soon!

Hello. You have exactly the same thing I have suffered with for years. Rest assured there is nothing wrong with you. Your heart is fine. Likely you are having pain associated with the nerves in your spine. This is what caused mine, and, like I said, you have the same exact symptoms. Of course, if you are experiencing anxiety and panic, it will seem much worse. To help with this, try stretching several times during the day. Touching your toes or the floor in front of you is good for this. Also, hang from a chinning bar for about thirty seconds once or twice a day. Also, seeing a chiropractor once a month is helpful. Once you realize that these pains are from something much less serious than heart trouble, you will find them getting less frequent. I hope this helps.
It might also be costochondritis, which is inflammation of the cartilage and bones in the chest wall. I have this. Here are two links on this orthopedic condition.

enigma,
i get this, especially when i am having times of high stress. It also concerned me alot. I asked my doctors and they both said its a symptom of anxiety. I have had such pains in my chest, sometimes mine were very strong and it went on for weeks on and off. ever since I started doing the relaxation cd I havent really had this problem. I also get random pains in other parts of my body. especially in my back. the pains in my chest or heart used to freak me out so bad but once i realized it was part of anxiety i dont let it bother me anymore. I dont have acid reflux either.
