Just started Klonopin- HELP
Klonopin has worked great for me. I was traveling once and i began to experiance a constant shakyness that i had never experianced with my anxiety before. Now realize i have suffered from anxiety for over 10 years and this was a new symptom. I went to my family physician who has been treating me and she put me on Klonopin. This has work great for me. As soon as i take it when i am feeling anxious in about 30 minutes my symptoms get better. I am also taking lexapro daily. I am so ready to get off this medication but in the mean time it works.
My Dr. recently gave me Lexapro and Klonopin. I have been extremely exhausted and I wasn't sure which medication it was from. I now think that it is from the Klonopin. I have been taking them for just a week. I am going to cut back on my dose, she has me on 5mg so I will take 1/2 of the pill and see how that does.
I was on Xanax for several years, and it worked extremely well. But my body built up a tolerance, so my dr. switched me to Ativan- which I was on until a few days ago (same problem- haituation). Now I've been prescribed Clonazepam, and, to some degree, I still feel edgy, anxious, and like I can't breath a lot of the time- anyone else ever been on Clon.? What were your reactions? Advice?
Hi. I take .5 mgs of Klonopin daily. I like it because I have had no side effects and it still gives me a chance at working on relieving my anxiety. My dose takes the edge off of the panic. Somedays I feel like I don't even need it, but I take it anyway because my psy said to. It really has been a lifesaver for me.
Take care and be good to yourself,

I have been on clono since last Oct. I don't like the way i feel either. I take half a pill
in the morning and whole one a night. I don't
get very much sleep at night maybe about 6 hours.
But it doesn't settle me down when i feel like i am anxious. I am hoping one day to get off it for good.

I am new on the forum, but I had to respond to the klonapin. I have been on this medication for over 10 years. The Dr. put me on 0.5mg. I only take half of the pill at a time about 3 times a day. When I first started the meds I was out of my head. Now I am out of my head if I don't take it. It really works for me. Thank God. The Dr. changed my medication once and I had to call him on the phone in a complete meltdown. He was sreaming at me to get my attention. He told me to stop the new medication and chew one of my klonapin to get in my system faster. Boy did it work. I happen to be one of the ones this medication really works on.
Feeling Blue,
Thanks so much for your reply; it's really encouraging to hear about people's experiences, opinions, and advice.
It's been a week since I've been on the clono, and I'm feeling better- functioning at least (I'm praying it's just additional work stress [I teach, and we just finished the semester, so I had grades due], which has been especially overwhelming since I took a leave of absence from Thanksgiving until Jan. 3rd).
I agree, the clono doesn't seem to calm me down as well as past meds (xanax and ativan). However, I am able to sleep... only because I take Ambien CR. Have you asked your dr. about a sleep aid? I agree it totally sux to take Rx, and I want off, too, which is why I am going through this program. My goal is to heal my mind first by learning some strategies to deal with deal with stress, then I will work towards getting off all this crap to heal my body.
www.theroadback is an interesting and informative website about Rx drugs. It also provides suggestions about herbal supplements in place of prescriptions. I can confirm that tart cherries do, in fact, make a person sleepy, and the passion flower does help with anxiety. I've developed acid reflu, so right now I've stopped taking both. But once I can get that eliminated, I'm going back on the vitamins. Maybe you would feel more comfortable taking something natural?
Again, thanks for posting. It doesn't seem like clono is very commonly used. Here's to blue skies for you, me, and everyone else feeling crummy.
Peace,
fischee

I have the Klonopin for panic but only take it when i really feel i need to. I was taking it everyday at the beginning stages of my panic rollercoaster. Now that I am able to work through all of these issues by myself and with the program I have only needed to take it once. My in laws were to be around that day. They are greaat people and i love em but, they are in laws. Need I say more? haha. Take care all!
