Karma
I feel your frustration. I supposed that you came across that mindset from experience? I know that so many have let me down in a pinch and I have or had become very jaded. The key for me is to try hard to realize that everyone is so different. Just because some pool boys are doofis' doesn't mean they all are. Like i am learning that just because my ex hubby was an idiot about so many things doesn't mean my current hubby is. It's hard but like creamchs says. We gots to lower the expectations. But I don't think we should have to dumb things down and be door mats either. When a service tech says they are coming then they should come at said time. If they can't a courtesy call is what's needed. OUr cable guy called us to tell us he was running late since the job he was on was taking a bit longer than he wanted and he was going to be about 30 min late. We thanked him profusely for letting us know. It's all about balance for me. And trying hard to rate the responses from 1- 10 and decide then ( if I am not insane by then) is it worth the energy or not? Anywhoooo you are way Normal and human and we have all been there done that.
take it easy :)
Jill~

Hi Karma......so sorry you are not feeling well and having pool issues on top of that. We have a pool that our whole family uses and my Dad paid for new cement to be poured and a new liner put in- in Jan. the pool guy said we would be swimming by April. Well, after 10,000 phone calls, threats, etc. the cement just got poured yesterday. On Mon. he told us we would be swimming by Fri. NOT! It's possible that all pool guys ARE doofuses(not a word). We have all been so angry and frustrated with him but guess what - it hasn't helped anything and it's made us all nuttier. Maybe we should try bribes or taking his family hostage! The point is that we've had to let anger go because it was pointless so I can sympathize with what you're saying. Maybe we will be swimming in it by Labor Day! .......................Jillzmind: I didn't know where else to post this but how did your dentist visit go? I didn't forget to pray for you!

p.s. Sorry if there are any pool guys on here! I kind of doubt it because they don't seem to worry about anything!

Good evening everyone !

Karma - how are you feeling today ? Better I hope. It kind of sucks being sick on a weekend.
I think that if had to deal with what you went thru with the doofuses, I would've lost my cool too. Don't worry about it or give it a second thought.

Today went smoooooooooth. It went smooth because there was no work ! LOL We're expecting a bunch of jobs to kick in in a few weeks, so I'm going to just relax and practice my breathing.

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but my dad belongs to a stamp club. Well, about a year ago, I started to drive my dad to his meetings. (they're at night). Anyway, I decided to join because I used to collect when I was a kid (I'm satisfying my inner dorkness). I find that since I dug all of the old stuff out and started to put them in order and get that going again, I found that really calms me down. Now for the point of this story. There's a stamp expo in the city I'm in. I was asked if I could volunteer for a few hours a day. It's in a HUGE building. As soon as I said yes, the panicky feelings kicked in. Now I know that I said today went smooth, and as far as work goes it did, but by the end of the work day today, I thought I was going to throw up. (maybe today didn't go as smooth as I thought).
The first 2 hours was spent at the expo after work today. I walked up to the building and it felt like I was walking in sideways. I wanted to grab on to something. Well, at these expos, they are mostly older people. If I accidentally grabbed on to on old guy (or woman) they would've went down with me. They wanted me to be security LOL. So, I put on the security stuff and I stood inside the door. The room started to spin. I didn't want to cry, so I had to hold it in. That would've been a pathetic sight. After a half hour or so, my breathing got back to normal and I made it thru it ok. I'm back tomorrow for 3 hours and Sunday for 3 hours. I hope that tomorrow and Sunday go good. I know what to expect there now, so maybe it will be ok.

I have tomorrow off work, so I'll have from the time I wake up to the time I go volunteer to really work myself up into a panic. I can't wait.

Hope all went well for all today. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go barf.

like you, i've said yes to things before only to experience this side of hell afterwards! have you finished barfing yet?

you did it, man of mine. you said yes and gutted it out. i'm happy for you there. what we endure with this kind of anxiety is beyond what anyone who doesn't experience it couldn't begin to understand. i'm glad i understand. wow - i just said i'm glad i know what it is to be scared simple!!!! go figure - YOU brought that out in me!

if it's any comfort - while you are there and i'm here - i'd have gone with you and held your hand through the whole thing - and made you laugh by telling you dumb stories! really i would have. i'm nothing if not a good friend - bragging on myself but it's the truth!

i think it's way cool you're channeling your inner dork. i love my dork side. LOL

i made it at work until noon today then came home. i just don't feel good - blast it all. i missed the luncheon and i was really looking forward to it! it's that italian place with that artichoke pasta dish i had a few weeks ago. i knew there was no way i could stomach italian food. instead, i came home and ate some tuna fish and crackers. nice, huh?

oh did you have pictures taken of you in your security uniform? LOL

i hope your tomorrow at the HUGH building goes 100% better!

Today I will re-tell myself the story about how your mama got you caught between the shopping cart and the checkout ! LOL That one always makes me laugh. Now a NEW problem. What happens when I burst out laughing by myself ?

When you're not feeling well, eat simple foods and get your fluids in.

It seems that a lot of people are sick around here. A few of my neighbours are sick and mom went to the Dr. on Wednesday and it ends up she has bronchitis (sp?) and a lung infection. She's 81. She still likes to work outside in the yard and she still does it with the sickness. She's a tough woman ! LOL Me ? I'd be in bed with the covers over my head ! LOL

In a couple of hours, I'll be spinning, but I will remember the humour (and the breathing).

Wish me luck........time to channel my inner dork.
