I started taking Synthroid (same thing) in 2003, and it sat in my cupboard for 3 weeks after reading the insert with the side effects. I finally went and asked my pharmacist about it and this is what she told me -- it will only replace the hormone that your body normally makes in its own, so being that 25 mcg is the starting/smallest dose, you will be fine. Just keep getting checked as often as they tell you to, and the only thing you might notice is "feeling better". (less tired, anxious, depressed or other symptoms you might have noticed when it was underactive) Good luck!

MY fiance takes this and I can tell a big difference in his mood when he doesn't take it. It has really helped, especially when on the correct dosage.
