I was just thinking this morning of a very wise saying, one we think of often when diagnosing patients:

"Common things occur commonly. Uncommon things don't. Therefore, when you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras."

Though fears concerning cancer and serious illnesses are valid, I want ya'll to remember this wonderful saying - often enough the answer isn't as crazy as our minds want it to be. Sometimes it's our anxieties keeping us feeling ill and other times maybe it's a little flu or something equally unimpressive.

I hope this little quote can help anyone dealing with this particular stressor as I know it is a frightening one - our minds can be wicked little things! I blame TV and WebMD!

Anyway, hope it helps lighten some worries.

That quote is so great. I blame WebMD too. >.> Everytime I feel anything I go to WebMD.

I have found that some Drs and online resources tend to give worst case outcomes just so down the line they won't get in trouble.
