negative thoughts
Well its not impossible to track our negative thoughts but we have such a hard time tracking them because we don't think the thoughts that we are telling ourselves is negative in the first place. Who wants to admit that they talk bad to themselves. My problem wasn't the negative thoughts, it was admitting that I was talking to myself in such a negative way. The truth is anytime we call ourselves stupid or feel bad for a choice that we've made or put ourselves down or feel guilty about not doing something for someone else then we are thinking negative about ourself. Even when other people try to make us feel bad including our kids and other family members try to make us feel bad because they know that we are our own worst critic. Its not our thoughts that's hard to track its confronting the fact of how negative we trully have been to ourselves that we don't want to face. Once we are honest with the fact that we have such high expectations of ourselves then we can confront the negative thoughts more clearly.
began session 3 yesturday but has been negative logging since session 1 actually. it seems the same thoughts come into play and stick.
i have seen them slow down some.
my question is,do u write every single negative thought? bec jeesh thats alot. ive always admittingly called myself a half empty person, but that was just me. now i guess i have to face this and chage that description to half full. hoping the program will help.

Well we can't write them all down don't we would get arthritis and plus that would use up way to much paper. We can however monitor the ones that are causing the most stress and anger in our life and put them on paper because when they are under control the little ones won't seem so big. You don't want to over think but you do want to make sure you have a good handle on those big problems
lol very true jay
yep i seem to have the same few thoughts over and over everyday. I started to write them down everyday and counter it with a Positive thought.
Hopefully this helps.
I am also reading lucindas book, she says write down ur most scariest fear and worry and then change it to a funny story . she says read it 10 xs a day for 2 weeks until it bores u. then u will never think of it again.lol makes sense. i guess..

Hey...ya i read that in Lucinda's book and i've been doing that with a few recurring thoughts. I'm not sure if it says you will never think of it again but I do know it helps. I'm not as anxious as before I wrote them down. If you want to see some of my thoughts, check out my latest post in the general and support forum.

Ive had therapy over the years including MDR but what I like about this program is that it doesnt dwell on your past since we have no trouble doing that any way, but you learn ways of getting rid of anxiety and learn to build self confidence and self love which is the core of our problems any way. I love the constant intereactive cds, the cards, the workbook, and the relaxation cd. Its like being in school instead of therapy.
