The jerk wasn't at work today !!!!!!!! AND he won't be there for most of next week !!!! I left work with a big smile on my face !!!

After work, I went for my walk at the river. Its 30 degrees and the wind off the river was pretty cold. I bundled up and went for it ! 10 kms later, I'm back at home and thawing out. I've never felt so alive ! LOL

As for the gas bill, mine is 101.00 a month. It's something most Canadians are used to LOL

Here's to a nice calm relaxing weekend !
(and Monday's a holiday for me !)

you may walk on the river and be a bit chilled, but i defy you to walk through this house and not freeze. i got my electric bill - $66 and change. i brought my heating bills down to just under $101.00 for the month. is it worth it - yes it is LOL

i am so glad/happy/thrilled for you that your jerk will be out of town for a good part of the week. you lucked out. at least for the next week, you can't say or feel that you were born under a ladder LOL x forever

i spoke with mama a bit ago. there is a rumoUr of more snow in the next day or two. i'm not sure what the temperature went to today, but it was wet and cold all day. i kept myself busy with vaccuuming and crocheting. yes, there will be another muffler before the night is done LOL

right now i'm somewhat into british movies - note the "somewhat" LOL last night i watched "beautiful people" and this afternoon "gosford park." i will say this, when watching a robert altman movie, one makes a commitment LOL x forever

if i had money to spare, i'd be in england this spring - touring the countryside. i just want to see the country lanes and cottages - and of course, ride horseback. realistically, i'll be right here taking care of home and hearth. it's a nice place to be.

i have to find my house shoes (i kick them under the bed so the grim keeper won't chew them) and put laundry in the dryer.

i'm so happy you left work yet again with a big smile! you probably had stars in your eyes too!!!

Happy Valentine's Day !!!!!

I just got back from my walk ! (3 days in a row now !!!!!). It's surprising the number of people walking in this weather.

Gosford Park was on cable yesterday. I saw that movie a while ago. There's a channel we have on cable that's completely devoted to British movies and TV shows. It's really funny ! LOL The humoUr can get really dry though.

Just keep picturing yourself touring the countryside !!!!! One day you will make it there, I promise !

Now it's time for me to kick back and relax for a bit. I'm going to enjoy these next 2 days even if it kills me ! LOL

happy valentine's day to you!!!!

i have actually arisen from my bed. it's incredibly beautiful today. the sun is so bright. i've put on makeup and curled my hair. i've been dragging around for day in nothing but pj's. every time i passed a mirror i gave myself a start LOL

since it's not that cold out, i'm taking pony for a walk along the river. he's already happy because he knows that makeup means the front door may open. i don't dare put on jeans until i'm ready to leave. he gets so excited!

mama is on her way over and is NOT excited about going for a walk. she's heard somewhere yet again about the rumoUr of more snow.

ok, it's time for jeans. pony is going to tear this place apart running and jumping LOL

me, mama and pony walked the river walk - 2 miles. pony was excited beyond all belief - he knocked both the couch and rug in the living room askew. he jumps high as the sky when i'm trying to get his leash on him. mama said i didn't need my coat or muffler - she was wrong. when the wind kicked up - wow. but then i was already cold from the house LOL

reason i will be mugged on the river walk:

a 19-month-old toddler came toddling over to see pony. of course, her grandmother and aunt were horrified - again, pony is now pushing 100 pounds. he's tall and lanky and oh so beautiful. children are just naturally drawn to him. as we stood letting the little girl pet him, suddenly there was this man with his hands all over pony's face - rubbing his ears, just loving all over him. in the most awfully british accent, he said he was missing his spaniel dreadfully. i never - never - saw him approach us because i was so focused on the little girl and how happy she was. she had lit up like a christmas tree and her family was telling me that normally she was scared of dogs. then british man then went on to explain to the little girl's family how pony was the type of dog they needed for the child.

and to think, i took a class in paying attention to your surroundings so you won't get mugged or hurt LOL

pony has made lots of friends and actually has a big fan base on the river walk. he's had so many pictures and videos made. i love hearing the words - "how beautiful, simply beautiful - is that dog?" then i'm pushed aside for their pictures or videos with him. it's the funniest thing ever. LOL anyway, i did like the man's british accent and he and his girlfriend/wife seemed nice. i saw the toddler child later and she just smiled and waved up a storm!

then me and mama hit the grocery. the following is an actual normal conversation - not at all loud or hateful - between me and mama with the checkout girl trying not to listen:

me: mama, one of these days i'm going to kill you for the way you push that cart behind me when i'm trying to check out.

mama: it's not my fault. you're always in the way.

me: i promise you i'm going to kill you one day for how you ALWAYS push that cart behind me.

mama: well i'm still going to do it.

me to the checkout girl: i'm so sorry you had to hear that.

checkout girl: i never heard a thing.

me to checkout girl: oh but you did. and one day you'll turn on the news and see me going to jail.

checkout girl (laughing): i'll tell them you warned her!

mama and i are such a couple - such a fixture - at various stores that when i'm by myself, people always ask after her. "where's your mom?" "is your mom on another trip with her sisters?" "your mom isn't sick is she?" we mirror total dysfunction that is obviously a funny distraction to them. LOL

i just checked the weather and the rumoUr of snow appears real. it's supposed to start sometime after midnight. the sun was so bright and the clouds were just white puffs in the sky when we walked, but that wind was blowing in the gray clouds! it was overcast in just the time it took us to walk and go to the store.

realizing my car had not been started or moved since i got home from work wednesday makes me realize more than ever that going to work - for me - provides a much needed and necessary structure to get out of bed LOL to infinity

your monday holiday is going to be so much fun! i have no idea if i'll be getting the automated middle of the night calls telling me work is cancelled.

i gave mama the rose coloUred muffler - she loves it!!!

What a day you had ! I think that as long as you have a 100 lb dog beside you, you won't get mugged ! LOL

So, does your mom hit you in the behind with the cart or does she wedge you between the cart and the cashier ? Either one is equally funny ! LOL
It looks like your mom is just trying to pick a fight ! LOLOLOL

Tomorrow will be a day that starts off with a walk at the river and then a restful relaxing day will follow. Work is going to be stressful next week because 3 of the jobs are due at once. It really helps that boss # 2 won't be there. I am looking forward to that for sure ! Now, no more work talk for me until Tuesday.

I do believe that I have truly mastered the art of relaxation. I fell asleep twice. LOL I hope I can sleep tonight now. Oh, the stress ! LOL

It kind of sucks for you not knowing if you work tomorrow or not. I know that I WILL NOT set the alarm tonight. However, my body alarm clock still goes off at 5:45am. The only difference is that I will have no problem rolling over and going back to sleep.

Have a stress-free night !

i just watched "frozen river" - about smuggling people over the canadian border into america. it was fascinating in it's total bleakness. i guess there's a big morality question as to "would you do that to keep yourself afloat to feed your family"?

now i'm going to have to reseach where the mohawk reservation is.

the movie captured the cold with its very bleakness. melissa leo (leading actress) has been a favorite of mine since "homicide: life on the street." that tv series also brought andre braugh (sp) into my life - such a wonderful actor.

when mama has coupons i try to hang myself in the store. i'm like a child who goes limp. i have offered to pay the amount of the coupons if she'll give just up. there's always - and i mean always - a problem when she's ringing out. and i'm always - always - lying across the counter begging the cashier for forgiveness LOL x forever

i'm putting an outfit together for work tomorrow - despite the threat/warning/promise of snow. according to mama - who watches the news - there are supposed to be a lot of big meetings going on there tomorrow. it's odd how mama knows more about what goes on in my work environment than me LOL

i hope your tomorrow is absolutely wonderful. have more fun than anyone. and don't forget - party like a rock star!!!!!!

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you and mom go shopping ! LOL It would almost take the panic out of walking into a store ! LOL

I hate to admit it now, but I use coupons too....probably not nearly as much as mom, but I use them. Now everytime I'm going to hand coupons in I'll have to try not to burst out laughing ! LOL As long as there were no shopping cart injuries, it's funny ! LOLOLOL

Well, my vacation day is coming to an end...sigh....I ended up doing some grocery shopping (stores were still open with limited hours). I'm just about to make my lunch for work tomorrow and then I can relax for the rest of the night.

I'll have to look out for "Frozen River" sounds like a good movie ! Did you find out where the Mohawk reservation is?

How did work go for you today ! It went great for me because I wasn't there ! LOLOLOL

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S...s_Mohawk_Reservation

information on the mohawk reservation. i love to google.

you'd like going shopping with me and mama. you just leave your pride at home LOL the best part of us is we make friends with any and everybody who has the mis/good fortune to encounter us LOL

work was good today. very few people were in from my department. so many took this monday so they'd have a super long holiday.

it didn't snow. this morning it was raining a cold rain but the winds blew it far far away. the afternoon was nothing but a blue sky - not even a whisper of a cloud. it's supposed to get in the 20s tonight and stay cold for another few days - then rain again.

mama has a neighbor who is a coupon queen. not only does she get tons of stuff for free - they practically pay her to get it out of the store LOL - but then she has these major yard sales with all the free stuff. i guess if i took the paper i'd use coupons? what i do though is shop the 2 for 1 sales at publix. buy 1 get 1 free. that's my forte LOL

i've thought about what it would be like to totally freak out in a store around here - start screaming, etc. but this is the south. nobody would notice. they'd just walk by or step over a body and never miss a beat. LOL most people are so consumed with their own lives, wants and needs - and talking on a cell phone nobody sees or cares about a thing.

i hope your jerk is out tomorrow and that your day is absolutely positively wonderful!!!! as for the work load - you thrive on it!!!!! you ARE that GOOD!!!!

Oh Karma, you are back! You don't know me at all of course but I came across this amazing, wonderful thread not long ago and now I feel like you are my good and dear friend! I was so upset about your terrible experience at work-I wanted to find out where you are and go tell everyone what jerks they are for the way they treated you! I'm sitting here tonight (this morning) lolling in in my insomnia, and lo and behold I check these posts and you sounded like your old self! Thank goodness! Sorry to butt in, I'm just so happy you seem to be feeling better-please don't stop with this thread. Man of Music, I don't mean to be insulting but it is so hilarious to me that you "made up" a holiday! Thanks for the good laugh. Maybe we could let you borrow St. Patrick's Day?
