I'm glad you are learning to accept compliments!
I'm trying to do the same thing.
It was actually very cold here today. It was 14 degF. We were all bundled up and wearing thick gloves. It snowed very lightly here, then the sun came out, but it stayed cold. There were 10 of us all moving stuff. It went by pretty quick. Once we got them moved in, we helped to unpack boxes etc etc. YES !!! We had more pizza ! LOL I was careful. I only had a few slices and a TON of water. I was so thirsty.
It felt like the furniture was all made of cement and steel ! LOL It was pretty heavy lifting. They had a sofa that was 3 seats, but 2 of them were recliners. We couldn't figure out how to take the backs of the seats off. It must've weighed 10,000 lbs ! LOL I'm pretty sore right now.
After we were done, I went to my brother's place. His son, son's wife and their kid came over. They brought over Rockstar. It was the Beatles one. I've never played Rockstar before. I had a blast ! LOL I don't remember the last time I laughed that hard ! LOL It felt so good. I actually didn't do too bad singing and playing the guitar, but I sucked at the drums. Oh well....I'm no Ringo ! LOL
That's good news about your job ! I hope the replacement is the one you are thinking of. No hidden agenda ?!?!?!?!?! Where did you find her ?!?!? LOL
It's good to have weekends where all you do is stay in bed. There's nothing wrong with that at all. Unfortunately, I don't have a laptop. So when I want to spill my thoughts, I have to come downstairs and turn the regular computer on. I may need to buy a laptop so I don't have to leave the comforts of my bed !
If it warms up tomorrow, I'm going to have to do my riverwalk. I got a TON of exercise in today, but I always enjoy the riverwalk. I plug the headphones in the mp3 and walk and walk and walk. ........I hope it's warmer tomorrow.
Here's to an awesome Sunday !!!!!!!!!!!!!

in the ultimate effort, i made a forward motion push this afternoon. lol i actually got out of bed - put on make up and jeans - dropped off various bills, then hit publix and walgreens. it's sunny but cold here. yes, i know 38 degrees for you is a heat wave, but it's not here. throw in the damp chill and - hey i'm stopping because i'm not complaining - it is sunny!!!!!!
so you're sore all over from the 10,000 lb sofa. the other night i watched the seinfeld episode where keith hernandez wasn't a good enough friend for jerry to help him move. throw in the jfk story line and it's a true classic.
i do not know of this rockstar thing you speak of. i must google it. i live for the google. some days my spiral curlers make my hair like yoko ono's - does that count? LOL
i posted a thing on southern humor in the humor section. i got it at work and laughed so hard at the questions. why? because they are valid LOL x forever
i hope you're having a good sunday and were able to take your walk along the river. there's something so calming and serene about moving water.

Actually it was more like the episode where Kramer was carrying the air conditioner all around the parking garage ! LOL
The southern math questions were hysterical ! I did a cut and paste and sent it to everyone on my email list ! LOL Thanks for the laugh
It was either called Rockstar or Rockband. I don't remember which. It was the new one that came out with just Beatles songs on it.
I got my lunch made for tomorrow and it's in the fridge. Tomorrow we will have an awesome day. Stress-free sounds good to me !

btw i'm glad you enjoyed the southern math. i know from experience that a plastic walmart bag will in fact carry a dead possum.
the boys "gifted" me with a dead possum - on my bedroom floor - a few months ago. the funniest thing in the galaxy is knowing - really knowing - on a wednesday night at 10:15 there is nobody in the whole world who loves you enough to come pick up a dead possum from your bedroom. it is one of life greatest truths LOLOL x forever
i've also seen a man stand in a tree with a running chain saw while drinking a beer - yes in my back yard. we are an amazing people HA

Want to hear something funny ? I had to google possum ! LOL I've never seen one !!!! They're kind of cute and ugly all at the same time.
Here's MY animal story......
About 6 years ago, I woke up to a bat flying around my bedroom. I had some drywall taken down so I could redo some plumbing. The bat evidentally crawled into a vent on my roof, then went between the ceiling and roof, then down the wall. I have NEVER before made the noise that came out of my mouth and I've never been able to reproduce it. It was a high pitched squeek ! It took 2 months before I could sleep in by bedroom again. Even then, I kept hearing that fluttering sound. I know it was my imagination, but still, it freaked me out ! .....ok , enough of that. I'm shhhhhaaaaakinnnnng agaaaainnnnnn.........
How was work today ?
For me, it was uneventful. I was worried about work that they were doing over the weekend since I wasn't there. It ended up that everything went smooth. Needless worrying again. I hope tomorrow is the same way ! LOL

at the morning meeting, the announcement was made that one person will be gone in 2 weeks. it was not met with much of anything by anyone. it was just a statement by the boss who wished her all that is good then the meeting moved on. i took notes, typed them up, then sent them to another for her input, then send them on to the boss. i did tell the boss the minutes were added to and by who. i don't take credit for work that's not all mine. that would be way tacky and in incredible poor taste!
things are gearing up for the busiest time of year. i'm on the phone a lot and it will only bet busier and more hectic. luckily, almost all the answers are variations of the same theme - just explaning rules and whys and blah blah blah. the best part of me is i don't get tired of explaining because they are valid questions to people who don't know the answers. i mean, why be annoyed with them? it gets to the point i can second guess everything i'll be asked and say it before they ask. this makes a lot of people start laughing. and i always - always - tell them, "if you think of another question, do not hesitate to call me back. i promise you i won't be mad!" and i won't.
now as for possums - the marsupial you had to google. oh honey, you can't swing a cat around here without seeing a dead possum on the side of the road. seeing one dead in the bedroom - well i don't know how often that happens. they do have the sharpest teeth but don't attack or anything. they just run from everything. the night of the dead possum, i just kept gasping - and gasping. pony was guarding it with every fiber of his being - keeper was throwing his guts up from his first kill (sigh) - and i was just hoping and praying pony wouldn't grab it and start running through the house. i found out i can move faster than just about anyone when it comes to dead possum removal from my bedroom. and i can honestly say i was sick on my stomach for the next day and a half.
i have this little thing on my desk at work that says "worry is a misuse of the imagination." yes it is. why do we worry so much about things beyond our control? i think part of it for me is because i am so trusting. i trust - then things start to happen and i second guess if i've trusted too much - to the point of making myself a target. i can't explain it. i started out with a good thought/analogy then it just slipped away LOL

today was such a good day at work. it wasn't too busy or hectic. those days are just right down the road. can i take it? sure. yes. i'm good at what i do. and more than those reasons, i do enjoy dealing with people. positivity - is that a word? - is a good thing LOL
i had lunch at a downtown deli with a super good friend. again, i had a big salad. the best part of a big salad is that there's always so much left over that i've got dinner too! throw in i had a $5 off coupon and hey, lunch rocked LOL
yes, it's a long journey away from worrying about stuff and nonsense. and that journey starts with a single step. sometimes after that first step comes baby steps. like most, i stumble, fall, get back up and dust myself off and just keep going - in a forward motion. some days i truly take long strides. really i do because i'm worth it (line stolen from loreal commercial LOL)
my dog pony has a hot spot. i googled home remedies. i came across something called ACV. ACV is not - as i interpreted it - an all convertible vehicle. instead, it is apple cider vinegar. i put some in a spray bottle and after using it once on pony, i have to chase him down to spray on more. on the plus side, the hot spot seems to be drying it up really good! if it wasn't, i would take him to the vet - for 2 reasons. the first is i'm a really good mom. the second is pony loves going to the vet and they love him right back. everybody comes running to love on him. i'm pretty much shoved out of the way LOL
now tell tell. how was your day, man of mine - i mean man of music LOL x forever
