Has anyone felt itchy at the same time you are feeling anxious/stressed/have something heavy on your mind?

For your years, my ankles and feet have itched before I went to bed or during the night. I went through the skin things: changing soaps & detergents, and seeing a dermatologist who couldn't find a reason for the itches. I usually apply Gold Bond and the scratches eventually heal.

Recently I have noticed the itching occurring the same time I am anxious or stressed or have something on my mind (like now ) But the itching and scratching are happening during awake hours.

Hmmmm?

Yes, yes, yes, big time! I've even got a weirder situation in that I have an injury in one of my muscles of my neck/shoulder that normally hurts, but itches the minute I get anxious or stressed. But I get itchy in other places too.

Of course, I've looked up all the dreadful diseases associated with itching so I ramp up from there...ugh.

There's a medical reason for it...something about hyper excited cells, immune response...according to 2 doctors.

Not to worry, it may not be common but it's normal and you're not alone. Glad you did the post so now I know I'm not alone :).
