it is to be hoped i an "un-elaine" myself tomorrow. actually since i wore my hair curly today - i did favor her. and i do tend to dress like elaine. maybe i AM elaine? LOLOL

word was going around already this afternoon about work being turned out early tomorrow for the upcoming snow day. we'll see. i'm not worried about it either way. as for sleeping in my car - HA - i'll walk home to be with the boys!!!! AND, tomorrow night is the alabama/texas championship football game - a must see for mama and me!!!!!!

how great for you - 2 pay checks! going in on that monday was one of the best things you could possibly do. you took away any cause for what-ifing and made a profit. way to go!!!

tomorrow for me is a learning day. i've got a bunch of things to go over. i'll probably put it all on a flash drive and bring it home to study. i did call one of the girls who was so much help to me today and thank her over and over for all she was to me this afternoon. she just laughed it off. she has no idea how wonderful she is - to more people than just me! she's got a kind heart and generous spirit. again, i am so incredibly blessed with so many wonderful and funny friends.

i hope your tomorrow is as good as today! and do think of me trying to "un-elaine" myself LOL

Well, the snow that was supposed to go around us didn't. It's snowing again. We're supposed to keep getting more snow overnight. I got my snow shovel ready again. By the way, a snow shovel looks like a regular shovel except the end is usually plastic or some type of light-weight metal and it's wider that a regular shovel LOL

Are you going to get the ice storm that you we're promised ????

It was actually pretty neat driving home in the snow. Our roads full of trucks and cars don't look like a giant pinball machine like the way it may look tomorrow for you ! I hope not anyway ! You may want to wear thicker pants under the skirt tomorrow ! LOL

Today was yet another good day ! The "happily indifferent" is really working ! I walk around the place with a smile on my face :). People either think I'm up to no good or on drugs ! LOL

Time to go and shovel again !

it IS a drug - and it's the ultimate drug - the drug of happiness!!!!!! LOL isn't it wonderful to be able to smile and NOT let things just make you crazy nervous?????

today was simply great - simply great - say that out loud - it has a british ring to it LOL i kept my nose to the grindstone learning and learning. i did put everything on a flash drive so if there's no work tomorrow i can STUDY it. my goal is to be the best i can be. hey - isn't that an army thing? HA

i have no idea IF it's going to snow or ice or rain. i don't think the weather people do either. it's all a guess game - a roll of the dice. it was about 24 degrees this morning - my bed and bath rooms felt almost balmy LOL to infinity

mama and i are sitting in front of a big fire waiting for the kick off of the alabama-texas championship football game - ROLL TIDE!!!!!

the ball will be kicked in about 1 mintute - i'm GONEEEEEEE LOL

hope your tomorrow is all that is wonderful!!!!

good evening cornflower!!!! yes alabama did win - yayyyyy! but they only won because mama and i are the BEST football coaches in the nation LOL boy did we coach last night!!!! we were worn out by midnight from calling AND running every bama play LOLOL if the game had gone into overtime, i would haven't been able to crawl out of bed this morning for work!!!!

we didn't get the ice storm the weather people predicted all week so yep it was a work day. i will say, it is cold though. when the wind blows it just adds bitterness! but it was bright and sunny - so that was great for me! i do thrive in the sunshine.

it was a good day at work. a lot of people weren't there so it was calm and quiet. i'm working hard at learning the things i've been reassigned. i enjoy interacting with the public so that's a huge positive for me! either on the phone or in person, when i'm dealing with someone, my goal is to make them a friend and try in every way to either make what they want a reality or gently and patiently explain the "rules" as to why it won't happen. i think most of us have been in circumstances where we want what we want and have been told it's not going to happen. nobody likes hearing that - something i more than understand! and i truly do like my boss. she's a nice person - a lady. she told me today that i dance/listen/travel to the beat of a different drum. well, that is who i am LOL i told her my dance takes me to a happy place and others are more than welcome to follow along - they'd have a good time!!! she knows i'm blunt to a fault - giving to a fault. i'm probably viewed as "strange" or "different" - but i prefer being who i am.

i hope your day was filled with laughter, peace and sunshine.

Thank you , Karma!
I'm sure you make the work place so pleasant for others.
Yes, I did have a good day.
And it was finished off tonight by a nice email for my son. That was a happy ending.

So glad your water pipes didn't freeze.
It's very cold for here - but Sunday will be much better.
Do you have Whippoorwills there in Alamaba?

Marching to the beat of a different drummer is always the best way to go. There are enough "yes men" or "yes women" around.

I'm glad that you didn't end up in a ditch ! Without the ice storm, no one had any fun ! LOL

Work went excellent this week. It wasn't without it's stressful times, but overall it was an excellent week ! I only had to shovel snow 3 times ! I shovel my elderly neighbours out and I go over and shovel my folks out. We are all clear now AND the roads are back to normal again too !

I want to go back to night school and I was looking forward to registering, but I just got news that the teachers may be going on strike on the 18th ! So NOW I'm not sure what to do. Do I register and hope they don't strike, or do I wait until next semester ?????

Hey Cornflower !!!!! What is a Whippoorwill ???????????? It sounds painful !

hi there! i'm not surprised you shovel snow for your neighbors or your parents. of course you do - that's who you are! you give so much to yourself when you give to others.

you had a good week - yay for you. you've waited a long time to be able to enjoy (or whatever) a week.

i'd like to go back to school too but can't commit right now. i think it's incredible you're going to do it! if you go ahead and register and teachers do strike, won't the school give your money back or credit for the next semester? ask! what are you going to study?

a whippoorwill is a bird. i have no idea if they live in the south. they call to each other making the sound "whippoorwill" - hence the name.

it's too cold to even go outside to play today. i've been inside all day cleaning and doing laundry. when i put on my jeans and makeup, the boys hoped for a walk. i just can't do it. it's the kind of cold that goes right to the bone. i'm on record - i can't take it.

i am so happy you're moving forward. has your family noticed the different you?

Congratulations on getting the work done around the house ! I did some of that today too.

I want to take a few computer design classes. I'm in the tool and mold industry and there are a few design packages that I want to learn. The problem is that each class runs about $595. Money's kind of tight, but I think it's something I need to do in case I need to go work elsewhere (not quitting, but in case I'm laid off). Different places use different design packages.

Go take the boys for a walk. You'll feel good after you get back !
