I keep searching for letters on here that tell how 'students' are coping with a spouse who is critical and just plain mean most of the time. My husband never finds anything good that I do, always finding something to complain about that I did or did not do. There is no let up on this happening in my house. I'm trying so hard to come back with something positive to say to him or just trying not to let it all 'sink' in what he is saying. It happens so much and I ask him to stop and he won't so I have started humming a cheery tune as he is 'putting me down"
He can't hear that I am humming but I just don't know what else to do.
I have posted on this program before and I NEVER get a response. I don't know if my computer doesn't work properly or no one is interested in my problem

Marriage problems
Hi Marilyn
Sorry you are going thru a rough spell. I am on my second marriage so I have little to offer in way of marriage advice.Heck I am hanging in there myself on that one
I will keep you in my prayers. I know that with my hubby the more independant I am and the more I do for myself and get out with friends the happier he is with me and seems to respect me more. I think he gets tired of my dependance on him? I know he does. I am Not saying that is your situation but just that getting out and doing stuff helps me feel better about myself and it takes alot of the stress off of our marriage stress. I will keep you in my prayers okay?
Take Care,
Jill~

Sure doesn't sound like your husband has any respect for you. I certainly wouldn't put up with that. I would assertively voice to him exactly how you feel. If he still disrespects you, I would think long and hard about this relationship. Sounds like you deserve someone MUCH better in your life. People who truly love you, don't tear you down.
