A few weeks ago, I lost a good Christian friend by suicide. My question is...do Christians who kill themselves go to hell?

Hi there mr. Cleveland..I haven't seen you around in a while. I was hoping that you read my last response to you..a few months back..
The question you posted is quite the question. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I would like to pray for the families and friends that are being subjected to such a tragedy. I hope you don't mind.

Abba Daddy, Once again I would like to thank you for allowing me to boldly yet humbly, to come to your throne of Grace. As it is written in Matthew 7:7 "Ask and the door shall be opened".. For you are the ALPHA and OMEGA..My redeemer, my first love! My shelter in the storms of life. Hebrews 13:5-6 "For you shall never leave us, nor forsake us"...
Father, Although I do not know the name of this man that succombed to taking his own life, you DO, as it is written in Jeremiah 1:5..You knew us as we were being formed in our mothers womb. Abba Father, I ask that you apply "peace that passes ALL understanding" upon those that suffered the loss of this man. I cry out to you Lord and ask that you calm the hurting souls of those that have to deal with this passing. A passing that is so untimely and painful. I pray that if he has children that you will help them deal with such tragedy, perhaps a heartbroken Mother /Father, help them get through the realization of never seeing their son again. God, I pray for your comfort and healing during this horrific ordeal..God, My prayer is that YOU open the hearts and eyes of those that are giving up. There is joy unspeakable, with you FATHER.. As you have written,
Philippians 4:6-7) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.'

God, speak to the hearts of the afflicted and bend their ears to the TRUTH.
Thankyou Father for listening and loving me. For once "I was lost but now I'm found"
You know my heart, my fears, my doubts..but PRAISE YOUR HOLY NAME..I AM FREE..I love you and I ask you these things in your precious Sons name, Jesus..Amen and Amen

Mr. Cleveland, I pray for you and those involved in the tragedy..Please know that I am here for you...WERE all here for YOU!

In His name,
Robin

Acts 24:15 reads...

"And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust..." - KJB

No one knows who does not have the hope because none of us are able to be "readers of the heart" - ONLY THE ALMIGHTY is able to do this!!

Please be assured that the Almighty is a just and loving GOD....in fact, the scriptures state that God is love...If we as mere human beings are able to feel love towards each other, how much more so does the Heavenly Father feel and show this...If we as mere human beings are able to show compassion to each other, how much more so does the Heavenly Father feel and show this!!

God is not only love but he is the ultimate Judge...and he is also righteous and just!!...

No one knows the extent of what your friend was dealing with and feeling...only God who is the reader of hearts knows!! If the Almighty promises a resurrection of the just and the unjust, it is not up to any of us to answer who is considered "just" and who will be categorized as "unjust."

Leave it in God's hands and trust in His absolute wisdom....Again God is love and God is just....isn't it wonderful that the final judgement falls ONLY to the ONE who has these magnificent qualities in the absolute sense and not to any one of us imperfect human beings.....Trust that God knows your friend's heart and leave it in HIS hands!!!

Best wishes and peace to you!!

another one.....

1 Samuel 16:7 -

"...for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."

Mr. Cleveland I sincerely do not believe this. When we come to the Lord for our salvation, our sins are wiped clean, but yes all of us will continue to sin in different degrees. If your friend truly received Christ, he is in Paradise.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Be comforted by the fact that he's likely in the best place he can be right now.

I agree I don't think a person who has desire to be with God can be in Hell. It is so difficult to lose someone to death, and suicide even more difficult. I lost a dear friend a long time ago to suicide, I still think about him and wonder how is doing. But I don't think he was in Hell. Although we all want to try to complete our journey here, I think it is the loss of what might of been. Who knows what is completely on the other side perhaps for those who were unable to finish the race, perhaps there is learning and schooling in heaven. Spirtual school of course. "All things are possible with God"

shifrah, sincerely received Christ? If you do not mind me asking, what are you meaning by this? I have wondered about the same question Mr. Cleveland. I do however see that you have more recently posted you are now atheist. I do hope you can at some point get this fire back. You are a son of God, and I believe deep down you know this. I will pray for your friend and for you.

Helping Hands I wrote that if he truly received Christ he is in Paradise, which is what the Bible teaches.

My husband committed sucide in July of this year. When I called our priest and asked if he could have a funeral Mass, he said OF COURSE, no one knows what that person's thoughts or intentions was at the last moment of life. In my mind, my husband had to be very sick to do such a thing to himself and God believing merciful would still welcome him into heaven.

Hi Janice:
Just keep those thoughts. That is a very healthy way to look at it.
We know that God is merciful and just. And we need to put ALL THINGS in his hands for safe keeping.
You are thinking the right way on this.

I am so sorry for your loss and that It happened this way.
God bless you!!!
And may He continue to bring you forward with your life.
MJ
