After my first panic attack I think is when I became a Hypochondriac. Did this happen to anyone else? I became obsessed with health issues. Anything in the news I read about, an outbreak of illness....brain tumors...by the end of the day I had it..I was convinced.

Now with this H1N1 and flu season..I'm a disaster... :(How do you cope?

A lot of us go through this. Like Lucinda says, confront your fears. Our imaginations are overactive and we tend to "disasterize" everything. We have to focus on REALITY, not our FEAR (false evidence appearing real). I was afraid, but I got my seasonal flu vaccine and will probably also get the H1N1 when it becomes available. If you get the flu, just take care of yourself the best you can--the H1N1 is mild in most people.

Thanks...everyone has been soo great on this site. I'm still in week two and working through it. I live in Toronto and it just seems like H1N1 is everywhere and totally bombarding us!!!I'm trying to keep rational and not avoid too much.

Everybody needs to keep in mind that while the media makes it sound like this is the next plague, it's just another strain of flu. In fact, it seems to be, in most cases, much milder than the seasonal flu we're all used to. Also, HIN1 is not new. It's been around for a very long time. So probably a lot of us have already had it and not known it.
