I was never realy into religion until I had issues with anxiety, you search everywhere for a cure, In the end I came across the bible, it does help.

Something I have learned is, god does not give you anything to deal with in life unless you can, If you put your faith and trust in the Lord you CAN get through anything.

Rant over :)

Hey Pear,

I'm glad you started reading the Bible. You will find many helpful comments in the spiritual section of this program. Reading the Bible is a good start but having a relationship with Jesus Christ makes all the difference. It's not religion that saves you and gets you on track, it's relationship. I wish you well. Many blessings. If you want to PM me I'd be happy to hear from you or just read your comments on here.

It can make you wonder, huh? He seems to use challenges like this to draw us near to Him. It helps us realize how helpless we are without Him and also that there must be more to this life.
Keep on keepin' on.

You will find that with GAD or any issue related to it, that your need for help and the assistance of God will heighten. Mine did and I'm glad for it. Sometimes, we may not realize why all this has happened, but in the long run, it may of been to bring you to His door step. Reading the Bible will help in ways you can't imagine. Much prayer will also get you through your issues. Anything I can help you with, feel free to contact me (email)

Stay Blessed

These writings are sooo true!!! God will not bring you to something without bringing you through it!!! Amen and Amen!!!

I agree we must all have a "personal relationship" with Jesus Christ and the Bible is the best place to start!!!

We must be born again, in order, to receive the full benefits of what God has in store for those who love HIM!!!

Have a great day!!! God Bless!!!

These messages are so encouraging! I have been a Christian my entire life and was just diagnosed with GAD. Leading up to my diagnoses, my faith was mediocre. For the past 3 months, I have been in a pretty dark place, but have found that my relationship with GOD has grown even stronger because of what I have been through. In church last Sunday, the pastor reminded us that when life gets hard, lean into the Lord. When you are weak, He is strong. Remember that we are not perfect, but He is. Things might suck now, but when you overcome this obstacle, your relationship with GOD will be stronger and you will praise Him for carrying you through the darkness. Stay strong! Remember that we are His children and He sees the BIGGER picture. I don't understand anything right now, but trust that GOD has a reason for all of this. Hang in there.......I know we can do it!!

I soo agree with all of your comments. I always felt that I have had a close connection with the Almighty God, but would often forget just how strong he is, and how much he loves me. When I was going through my worst bouts with the anxiety, I thought I was literally going to die! I have learned through this journey that through God ALL things are possible. It brings me to tears everytime I think of how bad I used to feel, and how when I would lay down and go to sleep that I would not wake up the nxt morning bcuz I felt so bad. Every morning through this battle I wake up excited bcuz he brought me through the night to see another day. Some days are still hard, but like my grandma told me, when you are finding yourself building a life with Christ, HE never said that it would be easy! I am still building my life with God, and I soo want him to always be apart of me and my families life. Prayer does work, I am a witness to that! Let no weapon formed against me shall prosper, AMEN!

I tend to see this as a testament to the power of your mind more than anything else. I mean, that's what gets us all here in the first place, right? It's positive thinking and affirmation that are helping you, and I believe so because of the following: Do only Christians get relief from anxiety when they pray? Probably not. I'm sure there are many Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc that feel empowered by their religion and feel like faith in their god/gods/goddesses has helped them through their times of struggle. If you want to attribute it to religion, then that is your decision, but also know that you, more than anything, have proved that you can use your thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
Congratulations and good luck!

I agree with you too!

I have been a Christian for 19 years now and only recently sought help in my problems. And my relationship with God only deepened from it. So just being a Christian or a Believer is not always enough, it's being in a relationship and having trust with our Creator that really helps us to let go of that thread that we allow our challenges to stay connected to us.

Paul once said his thorn was there to help him lean on God. Sometimes we need to learn to not only live with, but seek God to help us with our thorns.

If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it.
