I went to the doctor today. He took a bunch of blood to test my hormones, vitamin levels, thyroid, etc etc. But, he said I seem so anxious, that he thinks I need to be on medication. That was NOT what I wanted to hear. I am afraid of antidepressants. I'm not sure if I'll take it or not. If I knew it...

I did take toprol xl (and then the generic) everyday. However, I was prescribed the beta blocker for a tremor and not anxiety. However, they are somewhat related. I'd definitely talk to your doctor about any concerns you have - I think I'd only use it as a last resort for anxiety. That's just my opi...

I took toprol xl for a while. My doctor gave it to me to help with a mild tremor that I inherited. I quickly noticed that I loved it b/c it kept my heart from pounding when I got nervous. Many people with stage fright take metoprolol before a performance. It is even a banned substance in professiona...

I usually listen to Christian radio so there are a lot of songs that inspire me. However, the song that totally RELAXES me is Christopher Cross' "Sailing". I put it in my MP3 player and the last time I went to the doctor I listened to it over and over while I was waiting on him to come into the room...

Thank you Susan and pecos! It's always reassuring to know that others are living with this and getting through it. Grieving is not easy and I wish it got better with time, but we each need to work through this.

This happens to me but then I will take my temperature and it is normal. I wonder how in the heck it could be normal when my skin feels like it is on fire. I have heard several other people talk about this also. BTW, it seems like when I have a fever I am usually so cold that nothing can warm me up....

I have it. I started noticing it in March (about a week after I started taking Paxil). I went to an opthalmologist, neurologist and finally a neuro-opthalmologist. I even had an MRI. I passed every test with flying colors - they all say that my eyes are fine and that it is just a "phenomenon" that c...

Hey everybody! I have to have an MRI of my brain and unfortunately it will be a closed MRI. I am SEVERELY claustrophobic therefore I am TERRIFIED of this. My dr. gave me a mega dose prescription for xanax and told me I might sleep. I was just wondering if any of you had any tips for me on how to sta...

Wow. I'm glad that someone brought this post up. I could have written it myself. My ophthalmologist said that there is nothing wrong with my eyes it is a "brain" problem. I am going to a neuro-ophthalmologist next month. This all started about 2 months into my severe anxiety. I know it is anxiety re...
