Re: alone because of anxiety

Your post is so brave! Even braver is your decision to take care of yourself, step away from a bad relationship. You can't control your loved ones' reactions... they may never get it. I have been where you are with that, a few times over, and it is awful. Family is not always the best support networ...

Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted this. Thank you Liz for bumping it! Seeing it again is great. To update/clarify, the relationship I was in at the time I wrote it is over. We were committed and faithful but it is over. I've been basically single since then. Thank you guys, all, for respond...

I have been single since separating from my ex-fiancee for over two years now. I've had a few dating relationships, but nothing serious or lasting and some disastous. I've come a long way overcoming anxiety and depression and low self-esteem. But being single, in my 30's, and having been dumped/ rej...

Ä well-meaning friend (I guess) told me today something like this: "Ï don't know why you are so anxious/ worried. Just stop worrying. What do you have to worry about? You could have real problems, like for example that quadriplegic 21 year old who lost his limbs in Afganistan, and look at him, he's ...

Oho yes. I love exercising. If I really overdo it, I can experience symptoms like panic such as an increased heart rate and shakiness so bad I need to sit down, plus the room spinning thing. Mind you, this is extreme effort, like full out sprinting (which I don't really do).

Yes, trying to fix it all at once is like looking at a pile of food that's all the food you'll eat over your entire life and trying to have it all right then and there. Refocus, regroup and ask GOd/ Holy SPirit/ Buddha/ Krishna/ yourself for a new perception. I think because I was feeling SOOO good ...

Welcome to the forum. You're experiencing some really big external stressors. Because they seem overwhelming, your brain is reverting back to the old ways of thinking reacting and coping-- the anxiety, physical symptoms, panic attacks, agoraphobia-- because it was automatic for you for so long. It's...

I feel this way sometimes. It's like the anxiety is shaking out through the cells and tissues. It's irritating and unsettling. Hard exercise helps me; maybe the exertion dissipates some of the stress chemicals.
