Well the good news is I'm just starting Session 5 and I feel soooo good I can't imagine what I'm going to feel like when I complete the full program. That being said I'm feeling great except for the week before and the week of my cycle. I know I am perimenopausal from a blood test taken earlier this year but I'm looking for advice or anything to try on top of the the normal tools for anxiety that might work during that time period. The tools I've learned so far have helped much but that anxiety kicks up a notch during those two weeks. It's almost even more scary since I'm getting used to life without anxiety most of the time. Anyway any advice or whatever works for you would be appreciated. Thanks

I too have a rough time during that time of the month. I think its only normal. Our bobies go thru so many changes each and every month. I think what is important for me is to accept that this is a time that is a little more difficult and not worry of freak out that I'm falling back into old patterns or such. It's OK to have a little more anxiety at times and I just have to stay even more focused on positive things. I would suggest reading positive books and pampering yourself a little more during these times and know that you'll get thru it again. Even have a good cry, it usually helps me to release the tension and pent up feelings.
I hope this helped some. Good Luck to You
It sounds like you are surely making your way to recovery.
I wish you the best.

Hello klkroy, I would recommend exercise. When I get really crabby, running, really helps my mood. I can get really crabby from my anxiety and especially during my period. If you are not in shape you can walk for 5 minutes, then pick up the pace for 3 minutes, alternate walking and running. If you do not enjoy that type of exercise, I would encourage some sort of exercise that gets your heart rate up. The endorphin rush will really help you to feel better.

One more thing, I know soy is great for permimenopausal women. Soy is a pseudoestrogen that helps balance out hormones during that period. Soy is found in a number of products- powders, milk products, nuts, chips, snack bars, etc. SoyJoy are healthy snack bars that come in different flavors. The only contradiction to eating soy is if your family has a history of breast cancer. If not then soy would probably help. I hope this helps.

Great ideas, and this past month even though the cramps made me feel like not exercising I did it anyway and it did seem to help. I will definately look into the soy products because I don't know much about this. I appreciate the idea to just come to terms with it too. I think this will help alot since it's worked so well on normal days. I know I have to watch better what I eat during that time too because the cravings for carbs and chocolate go into overdrive.

Thanks again.
