Well Dave, I can realte to what you are having somewhat. Its like my body will fall asleep but then its as if my anxiety wakes me out of my sleep and i hate this! Its like Im so happy that i finally fell asleep and then this evil monster (lol) wakes me up. I guess the advice I can give is to be aware of what it is;anxiety. Give your self permission to feel anxious and keep in mind that it will soon pass as long as you don't let it bother you,. this is a normal response that your body goes through when dealing with anxiety and the more and more you work with the program you will develop coping skills to help you DEAL not DWELL on your anxieties. I dont know if your a religious person or not but relaxing music and prayer helps me alot also.
I agree with you totally Dave because dont they say that dreams are just leftover thoughts. So something may be bothering us that we didnt even notice and it will finally present itself in the form of our anxities. Im just presuming. BUT i wish you the best Dave! and I know your going to love the program. and you know what, when you get that ONE night of good rest its going to build so much confidence in yourself that you will have so many more after that. I also try to make it a point to lay in my bed a little while before i go to sleep so that it kind of naturally happens and im not forcing myself to fall asleep so to speak. Sleep is to precious to loose.
Dave:
Until I read your post, I did not realize how my sleeping habits were changing. I have anxiety so bad that I slept maybe 2-3 hours at a time. Then wake up with an over load of anxiety. I would then go into a very light sleep where I was aware of every thing going on around me ie: dog moving around downstairs. Any way I have been working on this program for three weeks and my sleep pattern is changing alot. I wake up around 5am which is ok. I feel more rested. My Doc has me on Lunesta. I am concerned that I have been on it so long I may never get off. He states that if my sleep gets better I will be able to. Just don't know yet, because I have not tried.
