When I would have my panic attacks, for days or sometimes weeks following, I would have a very hard time eating. Sometimes the first thing I would do when I woke up in the morning was to throw up. Then, if I would try to eat, I would gag. I would manage to just get in a few nibbles on things before I had to stop. This was a result of the panic. Luckily, I haven't had this happen for some time. The fact that I need to lose weight now proves that. LOL It will pass when the anxiety does. Just know its a symptom of the anxiety.

well you have stress since your hubby lost his job so its no wonder you anxiety is kicking in. I would still recommend that you go to the doctor to rule out any medical issue even if money is tight you must go. Try a clinic if you have to. County hospitals can not turn you away for lack of insurance.
If you find out you are ok and there is no medical reason for this issue with food then you need to start slow add the calories with protien drinks and sip them cold but you need to get past that hump and once you do you will be able to keep foods down.
Anxiety is tough and if your not feeding your body how can you feel strong enough to fight it off....you can do this....many americans are in the same situation you are your not alone.
It will be ok.

Dodger makes some good points.
And since you can't keep food down and aren't eating you're going to get dehydrated. Try forcing some saltine crackers down your throat and drinking gatorade or propel water. And if there is anyting at all that sounds good EVER eat it or drink it. Good luck. I hope you feel better soon!

Live in your world get pwned in mine.
when I had my "breakdown" I was suffering extreme stomach pain and all of the other hypochondriac related ills such as thinking stroke or heart attack etc. I lost 25 pounds because I had the stomach pain and excessive stomach acid and the thought of food made me feel physically ill. Because I live in canada my coverage for health care is universal so to rule out an ulcer or other illness I had both a colonoscopy and endoscopy and the results came back that there was nothing significantly wrong like cancer but did show that I have Gastro enteric reflux disorder, basically acid can run from the stomach up my esophagus when I am lying down so while sleeping I have major heartburn. The doctor prescribed a medication similiar to zantac but way more powerful than we can get over the counter here( PARIET 20 MG) and this greatly helped with both my pain and heartburn but more importantly let my stomach heal and improved my insomnia. I made myself drink Boost protein drinks, sometimes three times a day instead of meals because I knew I needed nourishment and it was the only thing I could get down. Once my stomach was better and my sleep improved I found my appetite returning, I just have to be careful to watch what I eat which is not a bad thing (more veggies and less junk food and really cut back on the coffee). I guess what I am saying is that you if you can get into a hospital for tests and rule out physical problems you will have one less thing to worry about. When I found out that my heart was good, my blood pressure was controlled and that my stomach problems were treatable I was able to accept that my problem wasn't physical but mental and could start the healing process. I hope you can get help at one of the county hospitals that Dodger mentioned and get some small nourishment as often as you can, your appetite will come back.
I was talking with a coworker today and she was describing the "fog" that she has been living in and how she thought she was losing her mind etc. I think most of us have this experience, I like Lucinda's comments that its just the mind taking a little holiday from the stress of the world, and it cant hurt us. My coworker was extremely relieved when I told her that I had the same experience, she thought she was the only one and that she was going crazy.
Hang in there, things will definitely improve!!!
