As I said to THH, there's absolutely nothing wrong with taking time for yourself. We don't need to punish ourselves or feel guilty if we aren't always doing something productive. How long should you take? I don't know. It depends on what your mind and body need. The only time you really need to worry is if you can't get back into a productive mode and I doubt that will ever be a problem for you. You're the Energizer Bunny: you keep going, and going, and going! I don't know how you get all the stuff you write about done in a day.

Happy crying is a great experience. It's refreshing and healing. I don't cry often, but there's a video on YouTube for an X Factor audition in Britain. By the time the video was over, I was smiling and tears were running down my cheeks. I included the link below:

I agree with you about the positive synergy of this group. That is, we can accomplish more together than we could individually (AKA the total is greater than the sum of its parts). I also feel the comradery you describe and look forward to sharing thoughts, victories, and challenges with each of you.

Lastly, yes, obsessive thinking is the O in OCD. The C is the compulsive behavior where one acts out based on the obsessive thoughts. So for someone who has a fear of germs with OCD, the obsession may be the thought that their hands are dirty and the compulsion is the act of repeatedly washing them.

The issue you brought up about obsessive thinking is an interesting one. Knowledge without context or reason isn't very useful.

First off, welcome to the challenge group. I'm sure you have much to add to the conversation.

You're advice to LindaLee was great. You're absolutely right that in the long run, overpayment of $50 is not the end of the world. Also I like your sense of humor. Fortunately, the CD has a hole in the center specifically designed to let toiled water through in the event of an accidental (or intentional) flushing. ;)

Love the photos. It's amazing how much a simple visual image can have over our mood and emotions. I just look at all the smiling faces in the second photo and it makes me want to smile too.

BTW, the one with the guy screaming at his notebook computer is perfect. I know it's in the negative section, but I can look at it an laugh thinking of times where I've felt like that. I bet he just wrote a 14-page post for the StressCenter.com site and was about to publish it when his internet connection went out.

love the song!! thanks for sharing :)

Congrats on the freeway driving!! I know what a big accomplishment that can be :) I totally agree with you about trying to lessen the time period between exposures....I think it really helps because first, we dont have much time to dwell on it if we repeat it pretty quick, also, I think the accomplished feelings of doing it previously are still fresh and it just adds to our confidence...plus, the more times we do the less we fear it.....practice and repetition are very important......Im very happy for you :)
Today may have not physically felt very good to you, but you did an awesome job!! Just going on minimal sleep can make for a bad day for anyone.....but you still went shopping!! Just remeber that lack of sleep was probably the reasoning behind your anxiety and irritability, as that is normal for anyone.....
if people only knew what was going on in my head they would run, fast lol :)
I truly believe that you are retraining your brain to think more positive....this may be a bad example but it's all I can thing of as an example lol....in cults people come in with their already established beliefs and thoughts, and as time goes on they are only exposed to the cult's beliefs...these beliefs are repeated and repeated so much that the brain begins to believe them while old beliefs and thoughts become irrelevent and are eventually lost...that is what you are doing, replacing your old negative thoughts with positive ones......the new positive ones a becoming a learned behavior and the negative ones are getting pushed out....I really believe thats why the program works...so you must be doing the program right :)

I'm a little concerned about your exhaustion. I don't want to cause you any worry, but do you think it might be worth a trip to the doctor to just make sure all is okay? Your posts make it sound like you are significantly more tired than your normal energy level.

You mentioned in a previous post that you reduced your Trazodone by half. Was that just for one night or have you been doing that for several days? I know that is an antidepressant so it could be depression setting in that causing your exhaustion. That's a common symptom for many people with depression.

I suppose it may be that you've just worked yourself too hard lately and need some time to catch up. Either way, I want to make sure you're taken care of.

I'm so glad you've gotten out of that abusive relationship. Nobody deserves to be treated that way. You must learn to accept your own self-worth and not allow anyone to take that away from you.

Wow! You've had some amazing progress recently. You not only took the initiative to put yourself in situations that you know causes you anxiety, but you followed through as well. And the icing on the cake is that you handled the situations beautifully.

I also want to commend you on the times where you went through anxiety but then instead of going home you went on to do other things. I think that is such a great way to make a positive experience even more powerful because it reinforces the idea that you don't have to go home to feel good. You can feel good anywhere. There's nothing special about being home.

Also, I love the comment about the bubble mower. Excellent choice in lawn equipment!

Im really excited about my progress.....and it's a really good feeling :)
thanks for the support also....I finally got out of that relationship, but not before letting him completely destroy my self-worth....I think that's also why I have been feeling good, I no longer have someone putting me down...and you are right, no-one deserves that...
my grandson brings me soooo much joy :) I smile just thinking about him :)
have a great Sunday!!
