Dave, I'm glad you at least got back to us. Are you using the relaxation CD when you go to bed at night. A set of headphones if you're afraid of disturbing others. Are you calling out to God? He is there to give you answers. He will guide your steps if you ask him. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding and he will direct your paths. Prov. 3:5-6 I will continue praying. Listen to tape 3 again. Write down those negative thoughts and how to change them to positive. Don't worry, problem solve. God bless you Dave with an abundant life! :)

Thank you all for sharing your experiences with me and your suggestions of doing everything I can and giving the rest to god. I want to learn how to hear GOD, I am doing my best to trust in GOD and believe that he will help my family and I it's just scary feeling like I am doing it alone. I talk to GOD every day and pray to him for help and guidance I just don't think he hears me? I guess this takes learning as I have never been a man with a relationship with GOD?

Dave, Get the book and workbook "Experiencing God" by Henry Blackaby. It will help you hear, speak and feel God. Trust me.

Dave,
How can you not believe that God is hearing you when so many people who don't even know you are being sent into your life on this site from God? I have been reading these postings and am overwhelmed by the support He has given you. He has placed a hedge of protective support and prayer around you and your family. Rest in that knowledge.

Now I will also share with you some of what I have gone through. Keep in mind that after all of this is past, you will look back and be able to see why you had to go through it. I believe God is just leading you to a new place He has in store for you, a place with more blessings than you can now imagine.

I got pregnant before marriage and my husband and I were getting ready to marry. I was out of work and my husband to be lost his job out of the blue. I felt that we were cursed somehow and that maybe God was punishing us for our sin. However, that turned into a huge blessing. My husband's employer helped him find a new job making much more money. Then his old employer who had just laid him off tried to hire him back for even more money and then the new company he had just started with offered him more to get him to stay. While I was feeling scared and cursed, God was in the process of working things out so that I didn't have to work after having my son. So looking back on it I knew God was in it all the way. That was a wonderful way to start our marriage because we became dependent on God for our needs from the beginning and knew that we could trust Him, even when things don't look so good.

I have many more stories like that after 25 years of marriage. I will tell you one thing, material goods are not important and most of what we think we need are not necessities. Almost 10 years ago, I had just been diagnosed with cancer and my husband got laid off from his job. I didnt' care. I just wanted to live to raise my children even if I had to live on the streets. Again God was just creating a huge blessing. My husband didn't like his profession but was too afraid to leave the security of his job behind. His dream was to be a full time photographer but it seemed like an unstable and irresponsible choice to make. but when he found out he was being laid off, his company asked him to stay through the year and they would pay him a severance package of 1 yrs salary. So he stayed and in the mean time we decided that he needed to go for it and do what he loved for a living. And it has been the best decision ever. Now my husband is living out his dreams and traveling the world doing what he loves. We know that God is sending the work his way because there is no other explanation for the opportunities that have come his way.
You can check out his web site at www.dempsterphoto.com. So again God took a time in our lives that we truly thought was the worst and made it the best. Of course, I won't lie and say there weren't times when we were terribly worried and afraid, but God was faithful.

I hope that this helps.

One scripture that God has used for me lately is about the story of Elijah and the widow. Please read it if you can. (I Kings 17: 1-15)
God sent his prophet Elijah to a widow. Elijah asked her for food. She told Elijah that not only did she not have any food to share with him, but she and her son were about to starve.Elijah then told her what to do to be provided for by God. I found a paraphrase for this story online at http://www.essex1.com/people/paul/bible38.html
read it if you can. It is written for kids and very enlightening.

Keep your head up. Help is on the way.

Hi Dave,
Do you currently attend Church? If not please go to one and talk to the Pastor/Priest/Minister. Or just attend a service. If you don't feel comfortable then attend a different church in your area. I think having a chruch family will really help you deal with this too.
If you do go to Chruch then talk with your Chruch family too. People are willing to help. This is some the gift of God's love.

Yes my desire is sincere and I am still not able to find the strength, I am so scared I get up and work on little steps to make positive change. I am becoming overwhelmed. I just want to go back to bed even though I know nothing will change unless I change it. I hate this hopeless feeling!

Dave, I was just checking to see how you were doing. Have you been to the doctor lately? Your meds may need to be changed to help you over this rough patch. Your old ones may not be working. One thing you may want to do is make a written list of all your blessings. You have your wife and family and just look at all of us who don't know you personally letting you know we care and are praying for you. Look for the silver lining. God is with you. A verse ... " Be still and know that I am God." Hang in there and pray for God's peace. He hears you.

I've just prayed for you and your family. If you can just turn your troubles over to God and trust Him completely and listen to him, I know you will come out of your unfortunate situation a lot better, stronger and happier than you were before. Keep the faith and trust in Him.
