thanks so much for the replies. they definitely make me feel better. i am a little scared at the moment because the urologis mentioned maybe it is the start of interstial cystis. usually i am never faced with a name of a disease by a doctor, usually they tell me it is anxiety so now i am really scared that i might have this chronic illness. i get to the point where i dont know which symptoms are anxiety and which symptoms might be due to interstial cystis, does anyone know what i mean? how do i figure this out?

it might be interstial cystitis or it might not be. I'm suprised that your urologist even told you what "might" be. Here in canada they don't say that. If they aren't sure then they say they want to run tests and they would only give it a name when they feel confident that they have found it for sure.

As for not knowing which symptoms might be due to anxiety or interstial cystis it doesn't matter so much. The Fight or Flight response to stress can negatively affect any disease but if you deal with the anxiety then your body's immune system works better along with all of your organs so you would be indirectly working on the bladder condition no matter what name you give it. Right now all the name does is give you fear.

The screen name is pretty cool eh?

It makes sense.
I have had a constant full bladder and never associated it with anxiety.
When I am at work and my mind is busy with the equipment, I don't have the urgent feelings.
I thought it was because:
I have had 6 children
I am over 40
I drink too much coffee
On a side note, my sister had the same problem but with frequent uninary tract infections. about 4 years ago she had a medical condition (I don't know the name) that caused her uterus to expell through her vagina while having a bowel movement. She was told that it happens from having kids.
