I have that clicking thing too. I also have glands that pop out all up and down my neck. I don't know if it's anxiety, or allergies, or stress pressure from the muscles or what. The worst is my throat. It gets so dry that I swear I taste blood. And then it feels like the muscles are spasming and I think I won't be able to breathe soon. It's really hard to believe this is anxiety doing this.

Thank goodness someone else has that! The gland in the neck deal scared the crap out of me. Made me think "okay, I'm dying!" That's anxiety for you.

Anyone who has anxiety issues should have their thyroid checked. Thyroid imbalances can cause anxiety and palpitations. I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis (an autoimmune disease)with nodules of lymphatic tissue growing around my thyroid. This is benign, but my doctors are watching it and if it continues to grow, it will be removed. Also, if your primary MD diagnoses a thyroid disorder, I would recommend going directly to an endocrinologist. It can make a big difference in the care you receive.

I agree, Kaldrn. I have felt sluggish, hormonal since the age of 31. They checked my thyroid and always said I was normal. I had my first anxiety attack at 40 and that combined with the sluggishness and hormonal feelings made things so much worse. My doctor finally put me on thyroid medicine one month ago and I can't tell you how much better I feel. The important thing to remember is that most doctors still use the old scale of .3-5.0. I was at 4.88, so technically I was in the normal range. However, the official endocrinologists group lowered that range .3-3.0 several years ago but most doctors still use the old range. You can read about this more on about.com. PLEASE look into this. It's such an easy fix and I am so disappointed I lived with this problem for so long. Good luck!
