Signing your name...anyone have this problem?????

hi there, i know how you feel. i suffered from this same issue but the older i get the less i care! the thing is we all do it and no matter how slow or awkward you are there are a handful of other people in that same boat at any given time. the way i see it when i start to feel this way is who really cares - BESIDES me. its just me who is freaked and upset. the people who are watching me probably aren't thinking too much just patiently waiting.

Rachel - it's really good to know I am not the only one with this really strange problem. You sound like my husband when he tells me no one cares. Just do it and don't care so much. He said if people look at me when I'm done to just say it's hell getting old! I need to really work on my way of thinking so I don't get myself so worked up. I have come to realize it is just a performance anxiety issue and nothing else.

I have the same problem as well!!!! I am absolutely fine unless someone is watching me, then i start shaking and writing becomes impossible. Then, of course I am embarrassed and feel humiliated. This has really been a problem for me and I have tried to cope by trying to anticipate situations where i will have to complete paperwork and will call in advance to have forms faxed to me beforehand if possible or saying i am running late and ask if i can return the forms later. I'm in my 50's and thought I may have essential tremor as well, but now thinking I have scriptophobia! Wow! I would love to talk to others like me...I feel better already.
