I recently went to a psychologist who gave me a test saying that I had ADD. The test had only 20 questions and he diagnosised me. My chief complaint was for focus and concentration. I find it hard to follow a conversation after the first few min. if I'm not really interested what's being said. I feel that I've been dealing with Anxiety and Depression for almost 15 years now. Could it be my mind is overwelmed with trying to figure out this whole anxiety thing out. What if it is Bio chemical know matter what what you study it's not going to get better unless you take meds? This is my second time trying to do these tapes. I'm hoping for the best, like all of us.

Hi Hunter,

Its funny that you posted this on my bday! I felt like this post was made with me in mind. lol. I feel the exact same way. Its like I go into a dreamy state after a few mins of conversation. When I come back, I have no idea what the person is taking about. Its really affecting my relationships. I've wondered if its lack of sleep, and or a few other things that I hope are not the case. I'm at the point where I'm ready to take meds because I believe that my brain is on 10 24/7. Does this happen to you all the time?

Hunter,

I have had and still have trouble with concentration. Like you, I was also diagnosed with ADD and put on Adderall. All it did was make me high, agitated, and more spacey. So did the Ritalin I was given later. I later found out that if one truly doesn't have ADD, these meds will ironically mimic those symptoms in a person. Another thing to remember is that depression and anxiety will adversely affect your concentration and focus too.
