Hi Chrise. Yes I have had that same feeling of having something caught in my throat. Not exactly a chocking feeling where I can't breath. More like a small piece of food is hung up in my throat. Even drinking something would not help. And yes, it was scary and I imagined the worst and then tried to figure out why, what was wrong with me, "It must be hard cookies. I should try to eat soft ones!" "It must be because I smoke" I thought..etc etc.
My medical Dr explained it may be muscle in my throat that are "spasing" sp? and may be due to nerves / anxiety.
Anyway, It has gotten better for me. I found it would happen later in the day when I was probably over-tired. Also eat carefully and slowly, especially your first bite. Don't grab a piece of fried green pepper hanging out from your sandwich as your finishing a conversation. "Green Pepper Skin" ahhhh!!!!!!!!
If it does happen try to relax. "It will Pass" literary. It may take a little time and you may not even notice when it does.
I hope my experience helps. I am new. Only my second time logging on. (First time trying to reply)
ps: Any spell check on here??
