Just got the program on Friday and still haven't opened it. I think I'm afraid I'll fail. I guess you have to start somewhere. Anyone else out there have the same problem?

I just got the program on Friday, May 29th and was excited but nervous as well. My husband was out of town for the weekend so I was able to use it all weekend long without questions from anybody. I have listened to lession 1 3 or 4 times already but haven't started on the workbook. I did do the jumpstart section after listening to that section. I haven't listened to the Relaxation part yet though. I feel very confident that this may be just what I've been looking for all these years. I asked my Dr. to do some Cognitive therapy quite awhile ago and she agreed but never has started any.

It is anxiety-producing to start the program. I was surprised by that reaction, but I think I understand it now. We are afraid to fail, afraid it won't work, afraid it will work, afraid of change, afraid of staying the same.

It was just a matter for me of deciding what I wanted most - to be afraid and not change, or to be afraid and change. I already knew that being afraid and not changing wasn't working for me. What did I have to lose?

You will probably feel a little more anxious for a couple of weeks because it is hard to spend so much time in your head - but it will pass. And I promise you that it will be worth it.

Start doing the Relaxation tape as soon as possible. It might feel weird at first, but I really believe it is one of the most important things you can do towards recovery. Just learning to relax has been a huge thing for me. It makes everything else easier.

thanks, Teri, One of the most poignant entries I've read since beginning a week ago. I keep the faith that this is going to "work".....something has to!! I"ve carried this load much too long.

I'm feeling pretty defeated tonite. If anyone who has just started the program could speak about doing "well" having "successes" and then "flopping",I would appreciate hearing from you about how you pick yourself back up again and start again...thanks.

I know how u feel. You feel like a roller coaster. Your emotions up
& down. It is very difficult to break the bad habits when a challenging moment
Comes up in your life.
