tingling
Has anybody with panic or anxiety ever had tingling? If so where? I've been having it for almost 2 weeks and it's driving me crazy. It started about a week after I went up to 100 mg of Zoloft. I've been to the doctor friday and again today, he did an ekg and said it was great. He did a full bloodwork and said it was great.
Thank you! I started out just getting it in my hads and arms, but now am feeling in my neck, back, face, chin and sometimes in my chest and stomach. The doctor adjusted my neck and back today at my request and said that my neck was very tight, but thinks it is the anxiety. I just get so scared and nobody has patience for it they tell me to snap out of it. I guess it's hard for them to understand. The only thing that was wrong today was my blood pressure was 162/98 and on friday it was only 112/78. The doctor said it was probably because I was so nervous and not to worry about it.

Hi. I had tingling and muscle movements and the sensation that an electrical current was going through my body. Was convinced I had something terrible. I even had trouble opening my eyes in the morning. Like they were clamped shut. My eye doctor freaked me out telling me he thought I had MS or something like that. So I went through severe health anxiety and tons of medical tests. And it was allllllll anxiety! The tingling, the muscle spasms, the clamped down eyes. All stress related. I was convinced I was dying of some strange disease. Now I feel kind of silly for overreacting like I did. So, yes, anxiety causes tingling. It's amazing how long the list is of body sensations that are caused by anxiety.
I hope you're feeling better now.

Hi There!
I have had anxiety for years on and off. Just started listening to my tapes and reading the homework and I WAS DELIGHTED to learn about the tingling! The past two years have been a really distressing time, and I have noticed tingling showing up and then of course fear. I was convinced it was a lot of different things, but now I am just relieved it is anxiety. I will keep you in my prayers...which president was it who said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself"? Please be encouraged - you are recognizing the problem - so really tingling and all you have some victory here...

I can really relate to all these things. Especially music fan, I had tingling, muscle spazams, weird electric sensation through my body(which I found hard to explain to my doctor) I am also always very fatigue and achy feeling. I have had so many test done and was also told I might have MS due to symptoms and an abnormal MRI. They pretty much have ruled out it's MS but are going to do a little more testing on my spine, because one side of my body responds a little slower, not by much though. I could use some prayers and support right now. If the test come back fine and rule out any neurological thing, than my symptoms are probally due to anxiety. I also in the past have struggled with drinking and bullemia? Has anyone else turned to alcohol for their problems and is now recovering? i feel my anxiety has been at it's worse since I quit. Any input?
Thanks, Lynne

This is probably my worst and my most fearful sensation! I get it all over intermittently---my hands, feet, legs, face (that one really bothers me!), back, you name it I've had it. I know that my muslces are extremely tight and that is the cause of it. I am too scared to ever go to the doctor's but I always figure if it was something really bad it would continue to get worse and not stay the same as it has been off and on the last 2 or so years! Hope this helps!
This was 40 years ago, but I had tingling in my hands and arms when I started having a panic attack and began hyperventilating. It was taking in too much oxygen that caused the tingling. When the attack was over they went back to normal.
lynne,
Have you looked at trying rescue remedy, kava kava and valerian root, or some other over the counter remedy for anxiety? Just a thought. There's also Buspar which is non-addictive. I hope you're working with the program. It has the potential to end the need for anything for anxiety.
