HELENMELON~~
You're good to go. We're all here, and we're all real, and we all deal with what you have. Hang in there and you'll win out in the end. You'll beat it. You know you will.
Then, you can come back and read your threads, and see where you started! It will be like it was from a different person.
Hang in there!

Helenmelon, see people do read you call for help. I just started this week..Jan, 26, 2010, and I see your call for a response months ago. I wanted you to know, someone will even read and respond after months. Hope you are still with the program, because I am anxious for this to work for me, also. I just find it hard to stick with things....but, for me to invest this type of money and time....I need to get the help. I want to be happy and haven't really been in a long time....trust me though on this one....I am good at faking it though. Here's hoping you get this and know, people are out there still getting your cry for help and reassurance.

Hi Helen
,
What you are experiencing here is "feelings of unreality"....This is such a common thing for those who suffer from panic/anxiety and depression!!!
This is very normal!!! You are NOT GOING CRAZY!!!
I think everyone who has ever experienced anxiety, had these same type of feelings!!!
You are going to be just fine!!! I went through those "unreality" feelings more times than Carter had liver pills
I pray that you have learned these feelings cannot hurt you in any way, and that you are just suffering from anxiety symptoms...
I pray that you get a chance to read this, since I know this posting is nearly 3 months old!!!
Have a great night's rest!!!

I am a newbie here but I'm sick of living this way and watching life pass me by while I'm having unrealistic worry. I started having panic attacks following a car accident in 2008, and my life has never been the same since. In some way, I've always been anxious, overachieving, and creative. Sometimes I think it's a miracle I ended up where I am while living with this stress, but I want to enjoy life like everyone else! Not just try to GET THROUGH it! I don't want to keep walking around the house thinking, "my throat is swelling shut, I'm having a heart attack, maybe it's a blood clot"..I'm constantly around medical problems because my entire family is ill..cancer, schizophrenia, heart disease. It's not an easy place to change your thinking. I'm a doctoral student struggling to hide my anxiety disorder in fear of losing my funding. How pathetic is that? That I have to hide MY condition because of society's inability to understand mental illness. Meanwhile, students with "legitimate" illnesses get additional support. So, I'm coming here in hopes of receiving the support that actually UNDERSTANDS what I'm going through without ridicule.

Helen...I have many times felt that there was NO ONE else who could understand the anxiety that I have felt for years. The truth of the matter is that there are lots and lots of people who can understand and give us support. Keep posting your thoughts and your suggestions and we will ALL help each other to rid ouselves of the anxiety, depression, guilt demons.Thanks.....JOE

I understand what you're going through, i too feel like in some way i was always anxious and that no one understood me. This program works wonders, and the support group is so wonderful. There are so many great people on here, and have finally gotten a chance to make friends again...it has been so long without friends because of my anxiety and depression. So keep your chin up and know that we understand and are here for you!
