To everyone dealing with anxiety - do you feel like you can't breathe randomly? then it makes you feel more anxious than you already are? haha

Hi, I have this problem alot lately, I feel like I am short of breath, or like I am going to just stop breathing. This has been happening to me for quite some time. Some days hardly a problem and other days it seems to stay there most of the time. It does get better just takes time and relaxation.

I was wondering that myself. I've only had it happen a couple of times, but it seems like I'm just going to stop breathing. Doesn't feel like I'm choking or my throat is swollen, but almost like my body just decided not to breathe anymore. It sends me into full on panic. I found that if I take a few minutes to just concentrate on taking deep productive breaths that it gets better. It's super scary, but we know that our bodies will take over if we make ourselves pass out. Anyhow, that works for me. If anyone has any other advice I'm all ears.

hi guys, my first post ever on here...this topic got my attention...totally how my anxiety has been presenting itself lately, that panic that i'll stop breathing...why does anxiety cause such scary/annoying feelings?? even if i tell myself "that's ridiculous, it's just anxiety", this bratty voice in my head pops in with "what if it's not just anxiety but a real breathing problem?"

HI, Lori , yeah I get that feeling quite often but mine feels that way when I start thinking "what if" it happens to me again while I'm at work. I had a panic attack there so I think thats where it's going to happen again and I start feeling anxious, but I do tell myself that I'm putting this in my head so I try to think of something else, usually works try it out hopefully it'll work for you also. Good luck and don't worry you'll be o.k.
