Just completed week 1

Put off joining the online support group all week...but here I go!! Im just finishing session 1 almost quit a couple of times this week. I know i have to keep going. I feel like i cant be successful because i am going through a divorce. There is alot on my plate right now, but i have always had anxiety and fears. Sometimes I feel like I shouldnt get divorced because i dont want to be alone but I am not happy if our marriage stays the same. Just alot of guilty and fear going on here. I feel like if I get control over my anxiety i will be a better person for someone else and myself. I am also having to come to terms with why I got married in the first place. Well I sure have alot to say for my first post. Hope it doesnt scare yall. thanks.

I'm sorry to hear that your marriage is in trouble. I can only imagine how stressful and anxiety-producing this must be for you. In my opinion though, sticking with something (your marriage) that makes you so unhappy isn't a good way to live a positive life. I have zero experience in this regard so take my thoughts with half a grain of salt. But IMHO - maybe this is a painful step in a positive direction for you!

Natalie, Keep doing the program! It will help you! I'm on session 12, but when I started I was in a mess with my dental. That is one of my BIG stressers. I thought the same thing, I'll wait till I get through my appts, then I'll start the program. At the time I was on session 2 I think.
I slowed down a little, but kept at it, that actually helped me. Keep the cards and read them daily. Good Luck to you!

Good Afternoon. I chose SmilesandWink to remind me to. I've too recently just begun the sessions work and feeling abit off. How true something hits the mark and we become uncertain of ourselves. But then I ask this, if we are feeling the anxiety of the true hit when it does, then it means it will work. It is right. Following the gut, listening to our bodies, taking the time off for our better selves, isn't that what the first step is all about. Nat, your not alone. I feel we are beginning the path together. Hi guys, I am just starting the program, still in the middle of session 1. Just sitting down and doing this program makes me feel better knowing that I am taking in positive feed because everything inside me tells me that I am not good enough and I cannot succeed at anything. So, sitting down and doing this program and having people on the same side as me, working towards the same thing, and thats feeling better. My problem is remembering what I take in, my memory is horrible so I really have to take this thing slow and make sure everything really sinks in. I am not only doing this to better my life but for my fiancee and her son, my future step-son. I am agoraphobic to a degree and do not like to just jump up and go places. My thought process and nerves focus on my stomach, I have had stomach issues since I was 10 years old and since then I am always afraid of going places that I know do not have a bathroom easy accessible, if not at all. I want to be able to get better in that aspect so I can experience things that I have not because of this issue.

I can truely relate to all of you in some way. I am just going thru the first week and feel a little better...but i def don't let everything sink in right away, it is going to take effort on my part and focus. My mind always wants to fight me and take me somewhere else, and i am hoping this program will reign me in. I think the relaxation cd is helping, I just find it hard to do 3 times a day. I look forward to starting to connect with my peers.

I totally agree with you as far as the relaxation goes trying to do it 3 times a day. Its really hard to find that time to do it and alot of times its your mind telling you that you don't feel like it. So, I try to do it whenever I possibly can, mostly 1 or two times a day, morning and night time b4 I go to work and b4 I go to bed. I also picked up Lucinda's book FROM PANIC TO POWER, really awesome book! It helps alot, it reinforces the program in the book and its good because my memory is horrible, so the book suits me well as far as bringing up the stuff ive already gone over in the actual program
