Hi, my name is Trina, I'm new here and very eager to get past this!
I have had alot of stress and anxiety. Along with that came heart palpitations, sometimes to the point of being annoying and constant. If I get busy, they decrease or I even forget about them. I have had tests done, echocardiogram normal, EKG x3 times normal, and blood tests and blood pressure normal. I am a nurse and know what anxiety can do to people.

Is anyone else plagued by palpitations? My doctor doesn't seem concerned, and I know they are not harmful but they annoy me.

I'm glad that you know that anxiety is causing your heart palpitations. I didn't at first and that is what scared me, among many other people.
They are annoying, but the key is to not get upset about them, because it will only make them worse.

I get them frequently. Usually it's due to anxiety or the fact that I am a nerd and drank/ate something with caffeine and/or sugar. That can cause them, too.

Hi, thankyou for your reply. I think just being part of the program and sharing ideas and experiences with other people will make such a difference for me. I am ready to get past all of this. The anti anxiety med they put me on makes me feel lousy and seems like the anxiety is ten times worse when it wears off.

Im so glad that someone else out there feels the same way I do. Im new to the program too. I am also in the medical field and Im starting to notice that LOTS of medical proffesionals are plagued with this anxiety issue. I too have had all kinds of test run and they all come back the same-NOTHING WRONG!!!-reduce your stress and so on. Thanks for the topic. I get so tired of the palpitations.

I got so bad a few weeks back that I was researching every symptom on the internet thinking I had some terrible disease. Didn't beleive that the chronic feeling of dizziness was anxiety as well. It took a coworker to call me a hypochondriac before I realized I had a problem with anxiety. I was very embaressed when she said it but she was right!

Hi Kitty, I too had heart palpatations, mostly arising in the middle of the night. I also went to the cardiologist, had the same test you had, and my heart checked out fine. I'm in session three of the program, breathing, listening/doing the meditation and spiritual cd's, and positive self-talk has helped me immensely. So far, I've gone to the market, shopping center, my daughter's tennis matches, and sister's work w/little or no anxiety.

Every day is getting better and better. Open that package and get going. Your on your way to beating anxiety! ;)

God bless, Suz

Yes and they cause me to have panic attacks. I have been to the ER about 10 times, two paramedics calls. They have done all of the test and they come back negative.

It is anxiety and stress related. That is why I am here!

Oh heck yeah!!! :) I had heart palps back in march that lasted for a week and it was pure torture! Dying from a heart attack is a huge fear of mine (it doesn't help that both my dad and my grandpa had a heart attack within two months of each other), and the heart palps just made me freak out that something terrible was about to happen. Had several tests and nothing could be found. I discovered that once I took the "fear" away from the heart palps, they went away. They have happened twice since then, and as long as I don't react to them with fear/anxiety, they just go away on their own.

I have had heart palps for about 5 years and had the tests run as well, everything is normal, but I keep thinking somethig is wrong because they come and go at any given time. I am finding out it is anxiety related even when I don't feel anxious. They seem to happen when I'm relaxed or tired. I am only 5 days into the program so I'm still on a roller coaster with my emotions. I am also very spacey and fatigued. Anyone else feel like this? I could use the input. Good to know I am not alone.
