It's been awhile since I have had a panic attack. I have been really good over the last couple of years. However, lately they have been coming back. it's been a rough year. Yesterday, I had a dream and in the dream I was so very sad and I woke up and went right into a full blown panic attack. I felt an overwhelming sadness and was in total fear. I could not shake it and it just kept getting worse. I got up and turned on the TV and lights. I was scared that I would hurt myself, I have never really felt this before. I went into my living room and lit a candle and just sat down and prayed and prayed and just talked to myself and let myself know I would never hurt myself and how much I loved life. It finally passed and I was back to Linda. But WOW this one really scared me. I guess that is a positive thing that it scared the hell out of me. I am really working on stayng in the positive, however, somedays it's easier than others.

hi Linda, i'm thankful for your post. i too had been pretty good the past few years but recently they've come back, and it seems to be when i wake up during the night. i'm not sure if it's the darkness, or the silence? or the sort of grogginess makes me weaker to them? hoping for relief for you.

Hello Sherry,
I laugh at myself now. I had them so under control and now they are back and they can be very scary. I had forgotten how frightening they can be. I had another one last night and talked myself through it. Now, if I could only sleep that would be great...lol. I agree, they do seem to come on when I am in bed ready to get some sleep. I hope relief for you as well.

totally with you on the sleep part...agh totally wide awake right now after working through one :/
even when you realize what they are you're right, they are still so frightening. I read your post about fear of death and your dream of your uncle too. anxiety and hypochondria/fear of death are so closely tied for me. i wish i could get to a place of just truly trusting my body.

Before my Remeron had kicked in or upped, I experienced the sensations and woke up screaming, but a whimpy type of scream...because the sensations in my gut was scaring me. I could also tell when my temazepam or Remeron something was wearing off because I would be woken by the scary sick to your stomach feelings that you get when you are going down a roller coaster, etc.

I'm with you...these are not fun at all.

Hi you guys I want you to know that I can't sleep at night also. I tend to get attacks at night mostly. They are full blown and scary. I get them in my dreams and when I wake up I have my full blown attack. I have been in and out of ERs because I thought I wasn't right that something was wrong with me. i do get them during the day but mostly at night. You guys are not alone on this. Thanks for listening.....

Hang in there! I had a rough growth spurt last year. It was frustrating, but I got through it and you will, too. Keep doing the progam and be patient and kind to yourself. On tape eight Lucinda talks about allowing herself to feel the anxiety. This is very hard, I know, but I think it sometimes helps to say to ourselves, "It's normal to feel anxious because I'm going through...." We all have a predisposition for anxiety, so it is normal for us to have growth spurts.

Good luck. I'm sending you all good, positive thoughts!

Hi Chris35--Nice to have you here. Not quite the club you wanted to join, but we're all here with the same problems. That butterflies in the stomach feeling is not fun, I can attest to that! Mine has definitely calmed down since first panic attack.

Joining this website has really made the difference and listening to Lucinda's CDs and I just got her book From Panic to Power which is so nice to have to read anytime and any chapter since I just have the CDs. :) Paislee
