I live in the Mojave Desert of Ca and there are deadly snakes incluting the dimond back, sidewinder, and mojave greem. This fear is realitivly new since i watched a show on T.V. that made me aware of what they are capable of. I lived here most of my life and rarely ever saw any kind og snake. Now that I have this new fear snakes are poping up everywgere. I have seen three dead on the road in the last week. I try using the six steps to keep from having an anxiety atack everytime I go outside. Then one of my friends told me she found a mojove green in her bathroom. I feel like I am not safe anywhere

Gee, if I lived in the Mojave I think I'd be worried about rattlers, too--just as if I lived on the edge of a swamp, I'd be worried about cottonmouths (a.k.a. water moccasins). Maybe you seem to be seeing more snakes because you're now unconsciously looking out for them? And of course it is important for your own safety to be alert for snakes if you're in a snake-y area.

I'm afraid I haven't much to suggest. But from what I've read, snakes in general would rather get away from you than bite you. I hope you can find help with this fear.

I know how you feel. I am scared of snakes too. Where we live we have mostly garden kinds, but not far from here a ocasional copperhead, or swamp rattler. I mow my grass very short, and often. They usually don't like activety, watch where you reach. I wish I had some great advise, you do have to give them respect. Just beaware of where they like to live. Good Luck!!!

These kings of snakes are very agressive. They are more likley to come after you than to run away

Maybe use a walking stick if you go out walking. It may make you feel safer.
