HI all , I am just wondering if anyone has low iron and post partum. I have bad anxiety and i was doing some research cause I really don't want to go on meds and I guess in short i'm trying to find an answer. I have a 4 month old and this anxiety started 2 months ago ( although i've been having panic attacks for 12 years) my dr says its post partum ( i hope it is so at least it will go away eventually) but anyway i also have really low iron and I read that iron deficiency from child birth can cause post partum depression (which can be in the form of anxiety) and irritability. Can anyone relate to this? or am i just trying to find the answers in the wrong places I just have this feeling that there is something physically wrong with me for some reason. I know I am my own answer but I can't get rid of this feeling that its something anyways hope someone knows what im talkin about ....

I really don't know about the low iron but I had post partum years ago when my daughter was a few months old. Actually, I didn't tell anybody what I was feeling until things spiraled out of control when she was around 9 or 10 months old. My iron levels were fine. I remember totally feeling like something was really wrong with me (physically). I had to end up taking a med to get myself out of the vicious worry and anxiety cycle I was in. I am by no means a doctor and it's been several years for me, but knowing what I know now, I would've supplemented with a natural progesterone cream and take St. Johns Wort for awhile. I actually do both now but if your'e willing to research (not on the web!), there are lots of options...Good Luck and I really hope you feel better to enjoy your beautiful baby!
