worse before better?

I HAVE SOOOO MUCH more anxiety now that i am taking this. can you have more before you get better????? i can't take this anymore!

I am so sorry you are feeling like that. I am not sure about the meds though. I took one once didnt like it so I weened off it. There are a lot of other people who could give better advice on this topic. Have you talked to your doctor about how you are feeling? Please try to remind yourself that this is anxiety. Nothing more. It is very scary!!!! But keep telling yourself that this is just anxiety. It will be temporary. You will be back to your old self again. You have just been through a lot lately.

I get anxious when i take my celexa because i fear what it could do.I have been taking it for six days now.I have the doctor and my family telling me to take it because it will work but i just have a fear of taking meds.Maybe you are like me.It will help you in the long run.It just takes time.

i am on 5 mg of lexapro. i remember i went through this with the paxil 8 years ago...but i don't remember this bad. i want to know when it will start working!!! has this happened to anyone else?????

That is very common for antidepressants to increase anxiety...it is unfortunatley a side affect. It should subside after a week or two if you can withstand it. Same thing happen to me with Zoloft but mine was so bad they have decided to just use Xanax and Inderal. So far so good with that and the program....God bless and take care of yourself....

Yes that can happen. Stick with it. Give it at least 2 weeks. I take Lexapro 10 mg and had an increase of anxiety the first week or so, then it leveled off and I feel great on it now, no anxiety at all.
