I am looking for some advice on this too. I have a fear of taking anything that may increase my anxiety (energy vitamins) so I was wondering if anyone had any luck on what some good ones were too.

The best vitamins and minerals you can take would be via fresh plant foods. I know you probably were looking for a recommendation on a bottle of pills, but our bodies treat most supplements as toxins and they end up in the toilet (your urine is bright, is how you can tell).

You see, supplements are second hand nutrients. They usually come from fresh plant foods, but sometimes they come from inorganic minerals, or clam shells or shark cartilage, or many other things we just don't naturally eat in nature. They are processed, cooked and processed some more, sometimes boiled down in chemicals and then encapsulated.

Most of the time supplements are delivered to us in "super doses" because scientists don't trust nature enough to give us the perfect amount of a nutrient, so they think that by making that nutrient thousands of times stronger it will cure what ails us.

But there has been no evidence that supplements have cured, healed or really solved many of the problems of sickness and disease. In fact, cancer and heart disease is still on the rise, despite the rise of all the supplements manufactured and purchased.

I'd say if you can't get your vitamins from fresh fruits and veggies the second best thing would be some of the green "live" whole food powders from the health food store. Beyond that I don't hold much trust in the supplement industry.

I'd also suggest watching out for some of those supplements such as Juice Plus, that have 300 fruits and vegetables in 2 pills. It would not be natural to eat that many fruits and vegetables in a day, most people eat 5-6 or up to 10 in a day. Our bodies were created to get nutrients from a handful of local plant foods, and they do if we allow them to.

I know, some people do take the B vitamins for stress.

For a while, because I'm a vegetarian, I did take sub-lingual B12 since it is apparently unavailable in plant foods, but the jury is out on it, since we really manufacturer our own as long as we have a clean gut.

For me, I wouldn't take something on a daily basis unless I was anxious that much. I have used the Happy Camper supps when I had a rough week, otherwise a change in diet was enough for me.

Happy Camper i did some research and seen lots of good reply on happy camper but this one It contains kava kava, which has raised allegations of liver toxicity and liver failure. It wasn't intended for long-term use. Also, gotu kola is a stimulant, and should not be consumed before bedtime

I agree Butcher, I wouldn't take it long term, but when stress or anxiety is high. If it's high on a constant basis, look into diet - eliminating stimulants like caffeine, salt, spices, etc. Also animal foods may cause adrenaline spikes as well, as you are eating their adrenaline from when they were slaughtered.

;)
I'd like to see a list of what foods correlate with each vitamin.I think theres a list in week 5 but I forget? Like we know Oranges have vitamin C but what foods give us Iron and Calcium and the right amount of minerals and so on.I know that pregnant women take Folic acid which I think is the same as B6 and we don't store that so it has to be replenished daily.
Anywhooo if you know of a simple list could you
post a link?
Thanks
J~
